THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW!

Holy, what an unexpected gem. I got this looking for something different and this did not dissapoint! There's enough detail where it matters for a game called Uboat as well as some nice surprises. Water modeling that would make Bioshock developers proud, check. Classic German U-Boats, check. Good crew progression, clear roles, good task management, check.

What surprised me is how historically acurate the game is and how varied the missions are. Hunt down convoys, lay mines, transport spies, save sailors. Core systems are pretty complicated or you can just let the AI take over. Either way, t's FUN. Landing torpedo hits while evading detection is awesome and you can really do everything you would expect in a game called Uboat.

There could be a bit more polish everywhere. Physics is a bit iffy (especially with time sped up), graphics are great overall but at the same time enemy ship models can appear quite blocky at times. There is the odd bug but I think most have been worked out by now (patch 4). The UI is fairly complicated and finniky but you get used to it.

Anyway Orsk, this was FUN.
