TL;DR: solid 7/10, maybe not for everybody, mod the eff out of it. I'll be playing for a couple hundred more hours I bet.

So, I obviously like it (eyes playtime). Here's the deal:

Mods are vital - but the modding scene is pretty robust! Yes, even paid mods: if you were disappointed by Shattered Space, then look at Watchtower by Kinggrath - it's a third of the price, and probably the best expansion to a Bethesda game since Far Harbor (IMO). Done by the same team that did Sim Settlemets 2 for Fallout 4.

But I digress.

There is a LOT to forgive here, and some of it is a mixed bag. The main quest is pretty unsatisfying, and the promised exploration of difference after completing the main quest is laughably small.

But again: mods help greatly with this.

The faction questlines, however, are delightful. There is a lot of excellent narrative in here, it's just tucked away. But once you sort of find out how to get at the Bethesda game in here, the way that wandering to find stuff works in this game? I have found it delightfully chewy.
