PvP feels refreshing and very active, the more you play it the more interesting it becomes.

I also love the build variety for the different shells and how it creates more unique combat scenarios.

Currently the only thing I find abbysmal is the horrible UI design and how you traverse through the menu's, I've played Escape from Tarkov for up to 1350 hours and even that UI is sometimes tedious but Marathon takes the number one spot for me on the UI aspect.
If they streamline the UI flow a bit more and reduce the amount of clicks it takes it'll already be in a much better state.

Looking forward to the future of Marathon!

Rewarding.
Forgiving.

UPDATED:
Please if you're gonna go for an "live service" module then also make your actions reflect that. Drip feeding existing minimal content over an season is just not it...

After Battlefield 2042, this new take on Battlefield with Battlefield 6 feels so refreshing and it’s going in a new, unique direction!

I'll be giving the pros and cons of my experience so far with over 43 hours of gameplay.

Pros

- Gunplay feels fresh and new, and it actually feels like where you’re aiming is where your shots are hitting.

- Graphics look super good and the performance is amazing, which is more important to me in multiplayer shooters. The amount of smoke and debris from explosions is such a nice addition and brings a new take on flanking while playing.

- Class character Skins feel grounded and super cool — the way they’re not overdesigned and still look fresh is amazing. (And please, let’s keep it that way. We never ever need those over designed garbage skins again, as they completely break the immersion.)

- Teamplay is rewarding, and especially as an Engineer main, it feels very satisfying to take out tanks. I feel every class has an unique focus in the squad and together it creates perfect teamplay moments.

- The progression of weapon unlocks feels, in my opinion, perfect. I hate how every game these days is catered to “we want fast, quick unlocks.” I want to feel like I need to work for something — to master a weapon and a class!
I unlocked the Mastery 50 camo for the MP7, and it really felt like I had to play a lot with the gun to understand it and learn its strengths and weaknesses.

Cons

- The UI experience is really awful — big Netflix-style buttons that gamers have been vocal about for years. We don’t like them, and they’re an unnecessary waste of screen space. Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel here?

- The Maps are a bit iffy. I love Firestorm, Mirak Valley, and New Sobek City, mostly because they’re vehicle-based — and to me, vehicles make Battlefield. Without them, it feels too much like a simple shooter. I’d love to see some bigger maps prioritized, with some downtime built into them as well.

- Matching and the overall Portal webbrowser are awful, it misses alot of features such as filtering on ping and players, also If I want to play with more then 4 people give us an option to see our other friends with an different color in game. Keeping it to 4 players and constantly having to rejoin to be able to play with more people is super annoying...

I might update my review after some seasons have come out, as I’m sure there will be many things added and changed. Let’s just hope they don’t overdo it with the skins or try to cater everything to the Battle Royale audience — not every game needs a Battle Royale these days...

The game feel is pretty nice but until they fix the performance issues are solved I'll keep this review on a No for now.

I'm running the game on Low settings in combination with the Upscaling method which looks and performs the best for now.

My GPU and CPU are anL
3080 TI 12GB
Ryzen 9900 x3D

So I would expect some decent performances on 1440p but for now it doesn't seem to run solid at all with constant random stutters happening randomly without even being in action combat.

Let's hope these issues get solved with future updates!

Game is super fun and my first introduction to the Moonlighter IP.

Combat feels flowey and smooth although I feel the hitstops when hitting enemies is a bit over the top regarding screenshake and timing. Might feel better and more responsive is those parameters are tuned down by a bit.

Apart from the hitstop complaint I find the game super fun, looking forward to the full release!

Combat feels amazing and the game is super fun when you setup an Squad and go through the story content together!

Updated:
After some recent updates the game is running perfectly above 60 FPS with all settings set to full Ultra with FSR Upscaling also on the Quality setting :)

The more recent updates also added some Tempered versions of new and old Monsters which are actually difficult now!

Very fun game! Good game next to DbD if you like the asymmetrical horror games but want to have a bit more tactic involved in the overall gameplay elements!

Lords of the Fallen!

A game that for me captures a beautiful thematic that immediately caught my attention with the first release trailer. And where on every front it shows to me an development team that loves creating games and create beautiful experiences.
Terrifying creature designs that give goosebumps!
Beautiful environments that are jaw dropping!
Visuals and effects that feel powerful!
An second realm that you can seep into by using the Umbral Lamp! With some very clever Technical VFX at display!

All of that and still it is one of those games that gives me the feeling "I want to play it, but when I'm playing it I've a hard time continue playing"

I find it hard to really grasp what gives me that feel, but this might be an combination of a few things:

Most combat encounters just feel weird and unfair. Where countless enemies get thrown towards you till it eventually gets unfair at some points doesn't feel well balanced. Maybe this has to do with the positioning of the enemies or the way they behave.

Bossfights are epic but some parts are just visual clutter moments where all kinds of VFX are cluttering my screen and eventually hiding the attack patterns of the bosses. I love visuals but letting gameplay suffer because of it is really crucial in these kind of games!

Of course the optimisation part is an issue. But I've to give compliments for the team for already giving so many frequent updates and daily patches. Because of this the game already runs a lot smoother on Ultra settings!

I'm sure for a lot of people Lords of the Fallen is an beautiful gaming experience, but unfortunately for me it is an pass...

For me it will be a No for now. But who knows, maybe in the future it will be a Yes....
