Town of Zoz - Patch Incoming

Hi everyone,

We're aware of two progression blockers that some players are encountering, and wanted to share an update on both:

Chapter 3 Ahyah's Reach Issue: Some players are encountering unreachable enemies in Ahyah's Reach (Chapter 3), which prevents progression. If you're approaching this area, please be aware that the fog may be impassable for some players before the patch.

Chapter 5 Boss Fight Issue: Some players are experiencing a progression blocker during a boss fight in Chapter 5. If you're currently in Chapter 5 and haven't reached the boss fight yet, we recommend waiting for the patch before proceeding.

The team has fixes ready for both issues, which are now being tested. We are planning to release the patch as soon as testing is complete.

At the moment, there's no workaround, but the fix is coming very soon. In the meantime, feel free to tend your crops, cook some delicious meals, or explore other areas of Zoz.

Next up: We're investigating and addressing crashes reported by players in the Discussion posts.

The game is pretty cute. The atmosphere reminds me of “Shaman King” in Brazil, hahahaha. The characters and the setting are just delightful. I fell in love with all of them from the very first minutes.
“Beezul” and the rest of the team did a tremendous and wonderful work. Finally, someone made a game with love, rather than just using a set of assets.
For me, this is the game of the year/ I’m really glad that someone is still trying to make good and interesting games. Thank you so much for your hard work.

Town of Zoz is really slow at the start, like borderline “am I doing chores for no reason?” slow. But if you push through those first few hours, it actually makes sense. The farming, cooking, and bartering end up feeling way more important than they seem early on, and it all ties nicely into the game’s vibe and survival loop.

It’s still kinda rough around the edges though. Pacing can drag in the early-game and there some traversal/fast-travel hiccups that get annoying.

But there's still something cozy and unique here. It’s not gonna be for everyone, but if you’re okay with taking it slow, it’s worth sticking with.

Town of Zoz is awesome so far. The graphical style calls back to the nostalgia of the Gamecube and PS2, though obviously smoother and more dynamic. The combat is snappy with some light challenge. The characters and story are charming, and the world is brimming with unique flavor. The soundtrack, though a bit repetitive, suits the game perfectly and has some standout tracks. The game is notably missing voice lines, but considering how bad most voice acting ends up being for games of this scope, I'm glad the VO budget was utilized elsewhere.

It has a few rough edges, but the vibe definitely makes up for its minor flaws. If you want a game that takes you back to a simpler time in video games, this is the one.

Crash after beating first wolf in Chapter 2

After you get bumped into after talking to the cheese merchant, you will be asked to fight the wolves. However, after beating the first wolf, it will send you back to the menu without any way to continue. I've tried to find where to send a bug report but have not found any method to do so. The only option that I have seen was a popup for a UE crash, but it would not let me send the report because there was no accompanying bug log. I'd really love to see a bug fix for this since I've been really enjoying ...

Game frequently crashes starting from Chapter 5

I didn't encounter any issues while playing through Chapters 1 to 4. However, since starting Chapter 5, the game has become extremely prone to crashing, consistently triggering an error report window. This happens most frequently when fast-crafting dishes in the menu. In the short span of the storyline where Boomi joins the party, the game has crashed over 10 times. Later, while trying to craft "Delicious Tacos," the game crashed so often that I had to keep replaying the same sections. On the first day o...
