Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Review:

Finally at last the newest addition to the Battlefield Series has arrived, and with it returns some of flare, charm and features. Battlefield 6 launched with 9 maps across several game-modes. The newest addition to the modes is Breakthrough.

Breakthrough is a large-scale game mode where players engage in intense combat to capture and hold control points on the map.
Objective: Attackers aim to secure sectors by taking and holding specific points, while defenders must defend these sectors from the attackers.
Gameplay: Each match typically lasts between 20 to 40 minutes and features 32v32 players, with both teams having 200 lives to capture a sector. If the attacking team successfully captures a sector, they regain some of their lives and can move to the next sector.
Tickets: Attackers have tickets to win, while defenders do not have tickets, allowing them to be more aggressive in their defense.

This mode emphasizes teamwork and coordination, making it a new staple in the Battlefield series.

Let's talk about game-modes and the Portal tool. BF6 has several other game modes ranging from the standard ones such as Conquest, and Rush to Custom Experiences made by the community using the Portal Tool. Thankfully the Portal tool returns, with tons of new features and plenty of customization. From being able to edit the maps to setting and configuring numerous options for an experience tailored to your own liking. Portal returns with a BIG BANG. A major thing to note is that EA finally corrected their mistake of not allowing players to Host their own servers.(Yes I am aware it was done in 2042, too). Doing so has cemented an excellent QOL feature into the game giving back some power to the players, allowing anyone to create new and exciting content. Bot play has returned to Battlefield as well, giving players the opportunity to take a break from PvP, and engage in some fun and exciting Co-Op gameplay. From either infantry only, to all out warfare, the Co-Op options are plentiful.

Now, let's talk about straight up gameplay....Starting with the basics. So class perks and what not make a return to Battlefield, giving each class a variety of options to unlock and equip. Most of the guns feel good to play, and each gun has different options for attachments and customization. The gun sounds are top notch as are the sounds of warfare. If you played 2042, there are no real big changes (at least that I noticed) on how vehicles sound, or feel while driving/flying. A nice option that has been added is the ability for any team member to drag a downed friendly, and then revive him/her without the need of being a medic. This option is absolutely AWESOME! I have had some really cool and fun Battlefield moments as all out warfare is happening and you see friendly soldiers drag other friendlies out of combat and revive them, as explosions, dirt, gravel and bullets are flying all around. Another feature that has returned as most know already is destructible environments! From Walls to sections of floors, you can make your own path of destruction as you make your way across the battlefield. I mentioned it slightly before however I really would like it to be heard by the development team. 9 maps at launch is NOT enough maps. We have had recycled battlefield maps in nearly every installment within the last 10-15 years. The battlefield community deserves better than that. Maps are not extremely difficult to make, and players SHOULD NOT have to pay MORE MONEY for DLC to get more maps. In my opinion, launching the game with at LEAST 12 NEW maps is really what the community deserved(s). All the years the Battlefield community has stood behind EA and Dice, even in times where they dropped the ball, deserves to be rewarded. I really hope EA and Dice do right by the community as time goes on.

All in all, Battlefield 6 delivers an experience that Battlefield players have been wanting and asking for, and Portal allows the community to tailor it. Let's hope that as time progresses, EA and Dice take care of the community and continue to listen to feedback.

See you on the battlefield.
