I'm a former WoW progression-raider that got derailed by schooling. When I got some free time and money again, I couldn't bring myself to sign up for what WoW was bringing to the table. I tried this and its' pleasantly satisfying: the story is compelling, powerful in some places fantastically campy in parts. I like the social systems and player housing, though they can sometimes foster a social scene that's a little too anime convention for my tastes. That being said, I've had almost nothing but positive experiences with interacting with others as I learn dungeons and systems. I has a welcoming playerbase in general.

I don't find the end game so compelling to rush to it and don't know if it'll scratch that itch. My only knock is the an insane amount of grinding to get up to current content - though I understand that's been made easier recently.
