It's the most technically competent and least narratively driven game Bethesda's ever made and despite my 75 hours the only thing this game conjures to mind is a communion wafer.

But if you pay even more money, maybe you can buy enough mods to inject some adrenaline into this sleepy little shell. Give them more money. Give them more money. They want more money. Give them more money.

i haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time

i was skeptical about the game when it was first announced - it seemed flashy and energetic, but i wasnt sure how the game could marry musou combat and a megaten fusion/affinity system together
but i was wrong lol
gameplay is exciting and oozes the persona 5 flourish, while never feeling too visually overwhelming
i was surprised to find that the general musou focus on slaughtering thousands of enemies isn't super potent here - there are moments of cathartic release where you can wail on waves and waves of shadows, but strikers does a great job of giving you more complex fights with interesting minibosses
each fighter has something interesting to offer mechanically, which makes it more fun to switch out your party members - even characters i dont like as written are fun to mess around with in dungeons
the game isn't incredibly strong narratively, but there are plenty of good character moments over the course of the story to keep you invested - though some may be predictable to those already familiar with neo-persona
the new music tracks fit the game well, and the dlc legacy music pack is a welcome addition. getting the innocent sin music to play during fights pumps dopamine directly into my brainstem

the camera can sometimes be a bit of a pain - not enough to knock points, but something to note
it's most notable in certain boss fights, where the enemy is moving very quickly around the stage and the camera has a hard time following them around if you're trying to lock on
some enemies are also a bit spongier than they really need to be - certain bosses make sense, but some fights feel like they go on longer than they deserve to, and become less a test of skill and more a test of endurance

that said it's an incredibly solid game
i hope this pc port sells well - i'd love to see atlus be more willing to port their games over to more platforms
plenty of games like digital devil saga 1&2, the persona 2 duology, and especially ronde deserve to be experienced by a modern audience

it's probably the weakest of the modern personas but it's fun enough to break and some of the characters are genuinely fun

wonder why they can't just take the time to think a game through and make something that's actually solid

Early Access Review
this game is the best kind of dogs hit lmao

its not all that polished and still a bit buggy, and i think the devs might have forgotten this game even exists, but its extremely satisfying to mow down three mexican kids with way too many numbers in their names with a pkp

and even when you die it wont pis s you off because it feels like whichever party survives a firefight is determined by a coin toss and respawn times are so quick youll hardly even notice

the worst part are the ukrainian hackers all somehow named linus but they're good sports about it
