lackluster. the music was nice

What is the point of having a block button if it doesn't really do anything 3/4 of the time? I complete the QTE training just fine and then the game is only too happy to give me its version of steve jobs' "you're holding it wrong".
What even is crowd control in this game? it's like you're expected to jackie chan your way out of a fight but, even with fully unlocked environmental mastery, there's still nothing for you to interact with and actual polearms are few and far in between. and bats seem to trump blades, for some strange reason.

on the good side, the game is gorgeous. I wish there was an FPS photo mode for the museum level so i can look at the exhibits without goons crashing through them. shame about the boss fight, it is dumb and bad.
also liked the black light tunnel in the club.

i'm going to finish this game and then never play it again because i really don't have the time for this kind of crap. a proper combo and parry/dodge system would have gone a long way towards fixing all this

This game has really nice sprites. i can tell a lot of work was put into the characters and the world around them, resulting in a very eye-pleasing experience. The music is good and for the most part it doesn't get repetitive.

I'd also like to commend the devs for fitting every single bad game design pattern into a single puzzle.
If you like platforming everywhere without a jump button, (this game's version of) quick time events, and aiming (i thought this was an rpg/hack n slash hybrid, not puzzle bobble), then this is a game for you.

Unfortunately for the devs (and players like me), none of their "clever" ideas work towards making an enjoyable game.

The story seems nice, wonder how the rest of it plays out. might have to look up a video because i'm not sitting through another moment of this.
