Even better love story than Twilight.

I wanted to give this game a thumbs sideways but there's only two choices I'm afraid.

A lot of people are nostalgic about the originals this game is meant to reimagine, but it ends up something of a disappointment if not for the fact that it is built on top of the 1+2 codebase. Gimped mission structure, unnecessary detritus especially in Tokyo where it's supposed to be clean and serene, and unabashed use of generative AI even when the general public's sick and tired of corpos milking it at the expense of professionals, the environment and basically everyone for that matter.

The game isn't all that bad per se, but if you're looking for a definitive and biblically accurate way to experience the Birdman's adventures, stick to the originals or download reTHAWed. It'll pay dividends unless Acti either cleans up their act somehow or Tony parts ways with them and produce the games on his own.

As janky as it is in its current form, the fact that this is a passion project by ex-Neversoft devs makes it worth the support and investment.

Seriously though, while the game is more or less fine for the intended audience, the control scheme is sadly left at a miserable state and could use an (unofficial) patch. Like, Windows can handle up to four Xinput controllers, yet the developers didn't have the foresight to account for it especially as most kids don't have the dexterity to handle a WASD keyboard control scheme.
