The atmosphere and ambiance is unmatched. Being a big fan of the original trilogy and all the mods, I am objectively biased torward my final opinion of STALKER2. I enjoyed a lot of the side quests, explored every nook and cranny, stash marker, gathered all artefacts (including legendary ones), all weapons, attachments, armors. After 176 hours I beat my first playthrough.

A lot of major issues have been resolved regarding game crashes and bugs. Some optimizations have been done for widescreen support. The game still is under optimized (I blame UE5) and there are still bugs (ie the short video that plays when teleporting still freezes and audio cuts out after a few seconds).

Despite these and other flaws I didnt mention, I still love this game and its series.

Haters are gonna hate over the trivia things that can easily be modded (longer day night + weather cycle, currency earnings and costs, weapon modding, binoculars, night vision). Although I do agree with the suggestions, those are petty reasons to give a bad review.

Once thing i'd like to see in the future is finding Guides outside of main locations. My main use for a guide is get to a town to trade.

Anyway this is getting long winded. i'll leave you all with this:

guess I should recommend it since I got 150+ hours out of it over the course of years.

I came for the gibs and stay for the satisfying headshot sound. Tank controls feel weighty and real. one shot kills is a double edged sword.

the game is frustrating, the map controls are delayed and direction is annoying as hell. The very worst part is : die > black screen for 10 seconds where you can not do anything (look at the map, voice chat, look at your score) > select a spawn a second too late, missing your spawn opportunities. cant mark anything on the map while you're dead.

no skill button mashing one capable build boss battle simulation. visually appealing and controls are good. so much potential.. its focus on boss battles and 5 minute missions is ♥♥♥♥ imo

Combat, Exploration, Immersion, Tactics. Way back when experiencing Blade of Darkness, I was looking forward to games like it.

Bosses become manageable once you've equipped decent gear and leveled up your weapons and character. Taking alternative routes (back-roads) and skipping many bosses let me experience the game at a smoother difficulty curve rather than taking the main path and getting stomped constantly. Playing the game this way made it personally more enjoyable

this game was a ton of fun. loved the destructible environments, the leveling up / progression system for each class, the weapon customization. the combat and squad-play is ton of fun.
