Honest Review

TLDR - game feels incomplete and empty but I am hopeful for eventual improvement. Giving a thumb up for *some* gamers (see explanation at end of review).

I'm a huge fan of Skyrim and am looking forward to the next Elder Scrolls game from Bethesda. I was not as interested in Starfield because I am not a fan of spaceship sims. I was hoping that part of the game would be minimal and I could focus on exploration instead. Unfortunately for me, the spaceship sim aspect is unavoidable and, in some cases, prevents me from advancing quests because I am so bad at it LOL. The exploration is not as satisfying as I'd hoped. I'm not opposed to procedurally generated content, Skyrim has plenty of that (such as repopulating caves, random dragon encounters, etc). It's just that the planets are so enormous that there is a lot of empty space between points of interest. The main story is fine and I like the companion characters (although they can sometimes be a hinderance). I feel like I am missing a lot of info on how armor works. For instance, I'll have a helmet or something that is supposed to protect against some environmental damage types but it doesn't seem to work as I would expect. Maybe I am missing something, like I need to repair or recharge it, but it's not intuitive. I don't have enough experience in ship building myself to give a critique but I know people for whom it is their favorite feature.

I think this game could eventually be expanded to fix some of the things I find lacking but it isn't there yet. I recommend this game to people who love spaceship sims and custom ship building. I do not recommend this game to people who love to explore on foot.

Fantastic story and beautiful graphics! So much to do and see beyond the main story line, too!

Deep and engaging, Larian Studios knows how to craft a superb RPG! Given all the ways in which a character's traits and talents affect choices and options in gameplay, this is a title that can be replayed many time and always give you a new experience.

This is a game I still love going back to again and again! There are tons of good mods for it but I prefer to play it without them.

Divinity: Original Sin is great! It definitely reminds me of old-school turn-based RPGs which is a GOOD thing! One piece of advice - SAVE OFTEN :D

I never played Assassin's Creed or Batman Arkham Asylum, but based upon the other reviews Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a similar game albeit set in the LOTR universe. So my review is based upon no previous experience with this type of game.

I felt a bit lost at first because you are given a lot of information about how to play very quickly. I thought it was strange not to have control of saving the game yourself, but it seems to work well so I don't even think about it now. Once I had a chance to look over the Tutorial information in the Appendices, and just trial-and-error gameplay, I have to say that it is a very addicting game! I really am enjoying myself and I like the challenging content. I am finding it hard to tear myself away but my left pinky is going to fall off so I need to take a break once in a while! XD

TLDR: HIGHLY RECOMMEND
