UPDATED REVIEW:

After spending a significant amount of time playing Overwatch again in 2026, especially following the recent updates and direction changes, I can genuinely say that my interest and passion for the game have returned. For the first time in a long while, it feels like the development team is listening and actively steering the game toward something healthier and more exciting.

While the current state of the game still doesn’t fully reflect everything that was originally promised for Overwatch 2, the steps being taken now feel meaningful. There’s a noticeable shift in design philosophy and content. Updates feel more deliberate. Hero adjustments feel more thoughtful rather than random balance swings. There’s a clearer sense of identity forming again.

The new heroes have been a big part of that resurgence. They’re creative, mechanically interesting, and genuinely fun to learn and master. Instead of feeling like filler additions, they add depth to the roster and encourage new playstyles. That experimentation and freshness is something Overwatch was originally known for, and it’s great to see it return.

Removing the “2” from Overwatch was also a surprisingly smart move. It signals a reset not just in branding, but in expectations. Instead of continuing to carry the weight of unmet promises, the game now feels like it’s embracing being a live service title that evolves over time. That rebranding allows the team to rebuild trust without constantly being compared to what “Overwatch 2” was supposed to be.

Most importantly, the game is simply fun again. Matches feel competitive but not exhausting. There’s more variety in play, more meaningful progression, and more reasons to log back in beyond just completing weekly challenges. That feeling of “one more match” is back and that’s huge.

As a long-time player who was openly critical during the rough years, I now have genuine optimism for the future. There’s still room to grow. There are still features and modes that could deepen the experience. But for the first time in years, it feels like the game is moving forward rather than standing still.

If you stepped away because of the broken promises or stagnation, 2026 is actually a good time to give it another shot. From a veteran’s perspective, the experience feels revitalized and from a new player’s perspective, there’s never been a smoother entry point.

Overwatch finally feels like it’s rebuilding momentum instead of surviving off nostalgia.

OLD REVIEW:

Overwatch 2 still has potential.

If the developers were to actually start fulfilling what was promised long ago and make genuine progress and actual changes that would improve the game, such as adding genuine new content that isn't the same thing over and over rather than just buffing all heroes randomly or adding random skins every now and then, Overwatch would still be able to recover.

I highly doubt that adding a PvE mode is "too difficult,"  and it is unironically what players want to see; it was a promise broken by the developers, which caused a distrust between the community and the developers of the game. I think that if the developers actually made and delivered the PvE experience that was promised, the game could recover from the bad reputation that it has gotten over the past few years.

As of right now, Overwatch 2 is Overwatch 1, but F2P, slightly better graphics, and more boring as we play the same PvP game mode over and over until we eventually get bored and play something else. There is barely any other content that you can participate in; all you do is just fight each other for an hour, then get bored and play something else.

In conclusion, the reason why I've chosen to mark the review as negative is because I want the developers to wake up and actually make something out of the "2" in Overwatch 2, because it is the same game content wise as in 2016 with minimal changes.

Stellar Blade has exceeded all my expectations, as I walked into it thinking this game would just be like any other sci-fi shooter, but instead, I ended up getting far more involved than I ever thought I would be.

The story had my full undivided attention while I played the game. Not only is the plot compelling, but it also has scenes that provide the player with a meaningful and emotional connection to the game, which is unlike many games today that seem forced. The world lore also feels immense, and the pacing throughout the whole game kept me engaged enough to never want to skip cutscenes like most games today does.

The combat experience in this game is fantastic and has been the highlight of Stellar Blade. After I got used to the timing of the combat mechanics, it was fast-paced, flashy, and surprisingly complicated, but in a fun way! Every single battle I felt was important, and the combination of dodging, parrying, and putting in my special abilities worked so well together. The idea of wanting to try “one more time” when I took damage or even died was something special, and seeing how well I performed my combos was a good feeling.

The visuals in this game are absolutely amazing. Stellar Blade has incredible graphics both in the environments and in the open world, but also in the character models, and the lighting effects are also breathtaking. There were multiple occasions when I would simply stop playing and admire the incredible graphics before me.

Overall, Stellar Blade is one of those games that looks amazing, plays great, and actually backs it up with a legit, emotional, and fun story. It is definitely worth your time if you’re into sci-fi action games or just want something that feels fun as well as polished from start to finish.
