I have no idea how, but they somehow managed to make yet another extremely addicting game.

I have so many things to say about this game, but I will try to keep this short.

First of all, if you're looking for a Slay the Spire level of depth, this game isn't it. It's very casual. Yet.
Second, this game is very well designed. You obviously start kind of weak, so you start mixing and tinkering your build until you find the sweet spot you've been looking for, only to find it's flawed in the next zone. This goes on and on until you realize you need more money to make it better to progress further. You also realize you didn't completely clear the early zones. So you go back and just wreck havoc, which is super satisfying because you spent the time building your optimal build. If you play MMOs you know what I'm talking about, because everybody tries to actively remove this aspect of their games.

There were some missing QOL features I wanted to mention, but I eventually figured out it's actually either a deliberate choice by the devs or an artifact you can find which unlocks the respective features. Which, again, goes back to how well designed this games is. I mean the things I didn't like turned out to be fixable by playing the game!

I guess my only gripe with the game is it does eventually become a bit easy once you figured out an optimal build as you collect new artifacts and power ups. But then again, you will hit this point after about 10, 15 or 20 hours of gameplay depending on how quick you are. And it's 10 dollars. Soooooo... Yeah. Again, very reasonable. There is also a way to circumvent certain restrictions, but I assume that's not intentional and will be fixed in the future.

This game has so much potential for future features. Maybe an enemy that hunts you through the map? An endless mode? Restricted build/rock-paper-scissors mode? Random encounters? I could even imagine a coop mode where you both have to progress through the map to unlock the next level. Some of these might as well be in the game but I just haven't found them yet, lol.

Here's the deal about Fallout 1st:

Should its features have been in the game in the first place? Yes.
Are they just money hungry since they already get plenty of money from the Atmoic Shop? Yes.

With that being said, 1st's features are not necessary to play and enjoy the game casually at all.

If you do get to the point where you could use them, you have most likely already spent dozens of hours in the game and you actually don't mind giving Bethesda extra bucks. Again, should its features have been in the game in the first place? Absolutely. But all I'm trying to say is that at some point, the number of hours you put into the game exceed the traditional ratio of price/hours and you kind of want to support the game since it's being constantly updated with new content.

Just my two cents as someone who has spent stupid number of hours in the game across platforms. Please don't soyjak me.

Gonna keep this short.

Game is an extremely buggy mess even for early access.
Content shown in the trailer isn't in the game (drove for an hour or so and only found a water tower).
Localization is done via Google Translate.

This game is unplayable, don't bother.

The ultimate guide on buying this game:

Do you mind the devs VERY CLEARLY basing their work and taking HEAVY inspiration from Pokémon to the point, where it might seem they straight up stole some of their ideas?

1) If your answer is YES, then this game isn't for you. While there are aspects of base building and survival, they are heavily tied in with Pals (Pokémon, basically) so there will be no way of getting around that. Look for some other game.

2) If you do NOT mind and have no moral issue with Packetpair basing their work on / ripping off Pokémon, the Pokémon company and Game Freak, then congratulations, you will have lots of fun building bases while utilising Pals to do maintenance of said bases, mining, fighting off raids and capturing more Pals. I bought this game last night and have been playing ever since. You will have extra fun with this game if you have a friend or a partner to play with.

If you're interested in playing this in multiplayer with your friends or partner, look for something else.
Basically, the way multiplayer in this game works is that your friend only gets to VISIT your island and help you gather crops and mine. They cannot progress, they cannot build, they cannot do quests.

A remaster made with heart and passion. Same old fun, but in 4K and bigger zoom.
