CS:GO Review
I've never written a review before, but things have changed so much that I felt I had to.

Let me start by saying Counter Strike is probably my favorite Steam game. You will never find another shooting game as smooth as CS. The controls are very intuitive, the movement is fluid, the emphasis is on positioning and disciplined firing (for now), and headshots are a priority. This game is honestly the pinnacle of what FPS games should be.

That being said,

Over the past few months (especially after Katowice) the CS playerbase has increased rapidly. Along with that, hacking and a generally toxic community have reached new heights. Valve continues to change weapon mechanics to support a more "run-n-gun" style, which is essentially anathema to Counterstrike's core gameplay. Along with that, Valve has introduced a dual-ranking system, which prevents me from actually playing the game. According to the new system, a player must reach level 3 before they can play Competitive Matchmaking. My account still says that I have 38 Competitive Matchmaking wins, but I lost my old rank (Nova Master) and am forced to grind through Deathmatch and Casual Matchmaking. Since the change, I have logged around 4 hours of gameplay and I'm not even halfway to Rank 2 yet. Thanks to the endless waste that is people aimbotting in deathmatch and replaying Dust II over and over and over again, I am about to uninstall this game for good.

Valve is slowly changing this game to attract more casual players and make more money and it shows. This is the not the same CS that I started playing. If you are looking for the type of gameplay that comes with the Counterstrike name, you will no longer find it here.
