After being yanked away from players and being told 'it was just in beta guis' after they had spent time and money into the game, Multiversus has come back with slower, worse feeling gameplay that feels excessively choppy and terrible. It seems like characters were upscaled in size, but the stages were not compensated for this, and so even walk cycles look worse and slower. There's a fair amount to say about the gameplay, but let's keep it short and move onto how the menu's in the game feel like you're playing a Five Nights At Freddies game with how many screens you have to swap through, or more importantly how this is the most WB game ever made: as in it's greedier than ever and wants your money so badly(even though they robbed you previously by not offering any refunds when they took the game away first time around).

There is a glossary option in the menus that helps go over terms and gameplay elements, but there is a full chapter for ECONOMY that helps go over leveling individual characters, rifts, battle passes, challenges, and the THREE separate currencies the game wants to use. There is the free currency, the premium currency, and the 'prestige' currency.

Free currency is far worse than before, you get it at an abysmal rate and thus unlocking characters (which costs 3000 free currency) takes considerably longer than before. This extends to the battle pass, which has terrible free rewards, with most of them being at the back of the pass... But lets look at the premium currency, gems. Gems can be bought at instances of 5 dollars, but are not a 1 to 1 currency to your money. For 5 dollars you get 450 gems. But, if you buy the 10 dollar pack, you get 10% more gems, which equals out to 1000 gems. This is the price of a character btw, 1000 gems. :^)

Obviously this is the same scummy practice to make you spend more than you want/need for something, and wants you to be spending 10 dollars min... But oh whats this, lets say a skin for a character you want(which was already in the game beforehand, that you could earn for free) is in the store. It's a price of 1250 on its own, but you own the character, why, lets give you a discount of... 10%! So 1150. Zero difference, you still have to spend 15 dollars for the skin, and again characters are 1000 gems on their own. So....

The third currency is prestige, which has it's own separate shop, and you earn prestige by unlocking things such as outfits and taunts, which is cool, you unlock stuff even for characters you don't have and it contributes to stuff you can save up for as a separate thing for a character you do have. 'Cept it doesn't even scale with icons(what you get from leveling characters) and then you remember 90% of the battlepass is paywalled you won't be gaining anything. Yippie.

Also you can grind out a bunch of tedious challenges to unlock agent smith and play him 2 weeks before he officially comes out, which means the character will be fully finished and playable 2 weeks before the release, but is artificially limited. It's not like a reward for backing a game dude, this is a fighting game character when you have the entire already locked behind paywalls and excessive grinding.

Avoid this WB microtransaction hellscape, the game ain't even feel good to play now, and even if it did you'd be spending 100 bucks for 10 characters that you can't even test out to see if you'd like.

Do not waste your time with this, the game is engineered not to be fun. Another completely botched Gundam game to add to the pile.

The moment I picked this game up, I couldn't put it down. It was a fun ride that I'll go back to again and again.

The game sports some bomb tracks, and fun gameplay that keeps you engaged with a story that plays around with some tropes in fun ways but not in an overly in your face way... It even gets rid of some aggrivating back and forth fetch quest styled business at some points with the main characters going "oh good, glad we didn't have to go back and forth, that woulda sucked". This game gets you and is all for giving you the game itself, not any tedious grinding or anything else that'll waste your time.... It's just good game. A damn good game.

Don't pass this one up.

I really don't play any other game, if you have steam, but don't have this game, I question why you got steam.
