Smooth early launch (so far), very few actual bugs, so far this game is an absolute blast, it's the kind of world I can escape into and get lost in. Well done Funcom!

For the record, Helldivers 2 has absolutely no right to be this much fun.
But there's something incredibly satisfying about shooting hot sticky democracy into alien bug holes.
I'm doing my part!

The game had a rough launch, but it has thoroughly hooked me lately. The corpse runs can be tedious and frustrating, but the rest of the game is so much fun.

Highlights:
- Vertical Climbing: Adds a really adventurous spirit to the game, allowing you to scale tall structures and explore the map in new ways
- Dye System: Lots of customization for armor pieces, very awesome
- Classless Progression: There are no linear classes in the game, play how you want, use swords, daggers, pikes, whatever you want, learn to craft everything or nothing
- PvE Servers: A fairly relaxing way to play without having to worry about other players ruining your fun, but still presents plenty of challenges

No Man's Sky is exactly what I expected it to be:

A seamless, persistent space-exploration adventure roguelike.

It's many moments of mundane, relaxed travel, exploration and harvesting, interspersed with intense moments of wonder and discovery. You won't always be blasting out of an enemy base or dog-fighting an evil alien armada, but there will be a few moments of that.

No Man's Sky is the 2001: A Space Odyssey of computer games, and that comes with all the good and bad that one would expect, it can be plodding and drawn out, but the moments where it shines, it REALLY shines. There's just enough intrigue with the various alien races, the sentinels and the mysterious Atlas to keep me hooked and interested in learning more.

Much has been said about the gameplay loop, such that it is. I find the gameplay loop to be pretty relaxing and zen, the fact that you can make your own priorities and decide what part of the game you want to partake in is one of the best aspects of a sandbox. So far none of the gameplay loop feels like a grind, which is a plus and helps make it feel less like a loop.

Also regarding performance on PC, I'm running a fairly mid-range PC and it handles the game quite admirably! There's a few low points where the game needs to catch up, but otherwise it's pretty smooth and stable.

I know Hello Games has some long-term plans for the game and I can't wait to see what comes next. Onward, to the stars!

There's something about this game that has me hooked, I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it kept me coming back all weekend.

So feedback for the devs:
Allow movement while attacking, having to stand in one spot while fighting is very limiting and it really brings you out of the game, it also makes it nearly impossible to dodge.

More detailed player faces, the rest of the game world and monsters are so detailed and unique, by contrast the PC's look very bland and boring, they need a bit of TLC.

Most of the bugs that people have complained about seem to have been pretty thoroughly eliminated at this point. I'm really enjoying my time in the game so far and I can't wait to give the co-op a spin.

I personally love this game so far, it's a bit rough around the edges but the game-play is fairly polished.

I recommend this game, but there are some conditions: do you like sandbox games? do you like making your own goals? If you answered "yes" to both questions, then you'll have a good time.

There are very few guides and walk-throughs for the game at this point, but that almost works to its advantage because discovery is part of the wonder and joy of the game. The amount of excitement that "Blueprint: Jetpack" can generate once you see those words appear on your screen is awesome.

If you like wandering around on an untamed, VAST world, this is a game you should look at. If you like crafting and building bases, this is a game you should look at.

9/10 Would GRAV again.
