Really wanted to like this game, and am hopefully holding out for a Patch to resolve my issues.

Combat is fun, very similar to DMC although very dulled down. Visuals/Graphics are amazing.

My issue come with poor optimization killing my FPS and making the game stutter very noticably. Played the demo with 100+ frames with no drops or anything, and played through the game for 2-3 hours after purchasing it the same. However, the patches the game has recieved have butchered the FPS regardless of lowering my settings, taking my Ultra settings with 100+ FPS to a stuttering mess that can hardly stay at 60-70.

I WOULD recommend this game if the issues do not exist. I'm not a elitist who needs the most pretty game and was willing to play at lower settings, but even going low the frame issues persist.

A one-of-a-kind experience sadly limited by its short play time.

Ground Zeroes is a glimpse of what's to come with it's follow up MGSV: The Phantom Pain. Setting up the Narrative, as well as showing off both the new Gameplay features, and New Engine both these games run on.

This glimpse is a wonderful experience as you are dropped into a Military Base with free control on how to approach the mission, whether it be playing as a silent operator nobody knew was even there, or to go loud and leave no enemy standing.

Either choice results in an incredible time with wonderful mechanics and responsive gameplay as the game really features a variety of ways to approach any and all situations that will be thrown in your path. Giving you motive for subsequent playthroughs to see what is possible to get away with and complete your mission. Featured in the game are a variety of additional missions that further take advantage of the dynamic gameplay with various different objectives and to let you see the base in a different perspective, whether it be something as simple as being there in Daytime, have it be more of a warzone straight out of an action movie, or a Sci-Fi Thriller.

Like any other experience, this too has an end, albeit one that ends much shorter than anyone would ever like. With a normal playthrough of the main story taking you no longer than 2 hours (That's a generous estimate) and the additional missions sprinkling in an additional 2-3 additional hours of playtime. By the time you become well acquainted with the gameplay and become one with your element, you'd be introduced to the Credits shortly following. Making this game more like an Appetizer to make you want to play The Phantom Pain.

Ultimately this negatively impacts this game's ability to stand on its own. However this short playtime should not let you turn a blind eye on the gameplay & world presented in this game. While considerably lacking a laundry list of features/content that The Phantom Pain features, what is offered here will make you feel that it's Successor ultimately is lacking in it's own right. With The Phantom Pain's world, albeit MUCH Larger by all accounts, feeling much more empty and lifeless than that of the Military Base featured here, with this singular area being a much better vessel to enjoy the core gameplay + mechanics of these two games.

To circle back on the appetizer metaphor, Ground Zeroes is a 11/10 amazing Hors D'oeuvre that will get you craving what's to be the main course (The Phantom Pain). Upon finishing dinner you will find yourself wishing the Appetizer to have been in much larger portions, and that you will find your Main Course even if it was made with the same ingredients somewhat lacking in certain aspects as delicious and amazing as it was in it's own right.

This game paired with it's follow up come together to be a unique experience that you will surely not regret.

In the same vein where playing DOOM 2016/Eternal makes controlling the Doomslayer makes you feel like an Ultraviolent unstoppable man of killing through it's fast movement and mobility options, RoboCop: Rogue City makes you feel like a Unstoppable Force of Justice by making you feel like a destructive tank with your rapid firing Auto 9 that shreds through People and Terrain alike along with the ability to pick up and throw people around like they were nothing.

That alone makes this game worthwhile, but the developers added a variety of content in terms of the story with a Morality System that lets you choose how you uphold the law, and a well developed narrative and scenery that does the first movie justice.

The Gameplay is also deeper than just being a Tank through it's indepth upgrade features for both Robocop and his trusty Auto 9. Allowing you to upgrade him with things like Bullet Time, Ricocheting Bullets for the action, or better Sleuthing Skills for the exploration parts of the game.

Highly encourage fans of FPS. especially those from the early 2000's and Fans of RoboCop to give this game a try. The passion the developers put into this is easy to see, and fun to play through.
