The game starts a little weak, despite selecting chronological order, the game shows some of Jodie's events out of order and even the first scenes that you get to play, at least for me, did not make a strong impression. That being said, the story builds up and despite some weak points such as some things not making sense/unexplained and critical(story-changing) Quick Time Events requiring you to infer, in an inconsistent manner, the action required instead of showing you the buttons to press, made me interested in Jodie's fate, playing until the end.

Original order of storytelling does nothing, except confuse you with random fragments of Jodie's life, making no attempt at player immersion.

This is a game with a unique story, it does not try to be realistic. If you're searching for some grounded, real-life alike stories - this is not the game you're looking for. I've seen people complain about some things going unexplained, not making sense and/or inconsistent, and I'd like to defend this game's story because first and foremost it is a game, and not real-life, it is a means of escaping reality, immersing yourself into a different world. That being said, the game highlights the inherent and mostly sad sides/things about our world and the people.
The ending that I've gotten from my playthrough was both happy and sad, highlighting the humanity's nature once more.
