A fine representation of how survival would look like on Arrakis. The game looks and sounds fantastic and has some very nice atmospherics. The story, side missions and base building will keep you busy for a time however, it currently fails to sustain in end game content. If it would have released with features such as Dungeons and/or Raids or any form of high end group or solo content then I believe it would negate most of the negativity. The problem is that there is not enough to do outside of farming Spice and running Testing Stations for blueprints once you've done everything else. There is the Landsraad competition between the two houses every week that involves completing certain objectives in the world for rewards but it's far from the most exciting feature and I feel it's still lacking.

Funcom seem to have hung all their hope on people sticking around long enough to see the light of any worthwhile end game to play. Yes, you have some DLC to play and the main story but once you've done it once, that's it. There is so much potential and room for expansion it feels like they didn't have the time or resources to fully realise what they could achieve. It is certainly one to stay invested in but only if the developers do the same. If nothing substantial is added that breathes life into the end game, I fear the player drop off will be too much to save it. That said, it could easily swing the other way because the potential is there.

You can spend hours crafting and creating bases even multiple if you so wish. Beware the tax man though! The game needs some time investment for base upkeep (keeping the power on and paying taxes every couple of weeks) so you need to bare that in mind if you do take a break. Creativity with base building is a huge aspect if you're interested. There are some different base sets to play around with and you can always mix and match. The vehicles of the game are great too. There is a good mixture of classes with enough versatility in skill points for some interesting combos. Then there is the Sand Worms! The confrontations you encounter with Shai-Hulud usually come from harvesting Flour Sand or Spice on the sand dunes. You have to be on your toes because you cannot out run the worms! You either get what you need and get the hell out before you attract one or you risk becoming their next meal. I'll say that even after you've provoked the beast tens of times, it can still get the adrenaline pumping as you potentially risk losing everything you just gained!

On the whole it's definitely worth some time if you love the Dune universe and enjoy the survival genre. It will hold different people longer than others I think. If you enjoy farming materials endlessly with moderate to high risk then this maybe for you. If you're a base builder or crafter that loves the creative experience, it may also interest. Or if you're simply down for the lore side and following the path of the Fremen, I think you will like what the world has to offer. Everyone will take something different from the experience and I think the potential is there to do so much more. If the end game can be worked on to provide a bigger challenge with bigger rewards, it's only sure to bring a happier player base. It really is all down to Funcom to show us just how far they are prepared to run with Dune Awakening.

A Truly Unique High Stakes Enthralling Adventure!

The things that impressed me the most about Red Dead 2 were the scope of the world and story telling. The map is very impressive and rivals the likes of the Assassin's Creed RPG's and The Witcher 3. The story is epic and the games time period and theme are captured perfectly. I had so much fun with the game that my extensive play time when I reached the end can still be added to by wrapping up other loose ends and collection challenges. There really is so much to do! The characters are strongly acted, fun and certain choices you have to make associated with them can mean different outcomes depending on how you play.

I am so happy with how the game played and looked on my system. The graphics on a high end system are very impressive and it gives the overall experience some serious awe. The game is huge and requires A LOT of hours plunged into it if you wish to reach the end and complete all side missions. I found the overall journey of the main protagonist compelling and I became thoroughly invested in the fantasy!

I started playing Red Dead 2, just over two years after it launched. So at the time of playing the game it had already had received all it's updates and patches. I experienced no crashes and don't remember having a single bug in my play through.

I cannot recommend this game enough if you love a good open world RPG. You won't be disappointed!

True Colors is in my opinion the strongest addition to the franchise since the first. I loved the story from start to finish. Some of the important choices you have to make are really difficult and I found myself having quite a long think about the repercussions. Once again the character depth is integral and it doesn't disappoint. If you are already a fan of the franchise just buy it. If you have never played a Life Is Strange title then it won't matter if you start with this one. Highly recommended.

Fun 'Doom' style fast paced FPS shooter. A lot of fun with a traditional old school style that many older FPS fans will enjoy.
Although only seven levels in total at time of writing, I am hoping they add another campaign in the future. There is a 'Survival Mode' that can be unlocked after completion that throws back to the old 'Serious Sam' style waves of enemies. Overall fun but be warned that it is very short in it's current state.

After playing RE2 I was eager to play the follow up. This is my first time playing the Resident Evil games. So I am unfamiliar with the character and their story's. I would definitely recommend this game if you enjoyed RE2. I think it does well to continue the key elements that made the previous game so strong. I did like the pacing and the narration. In RE2 I think there was more puzzle and exploring to do and that's toned down a quite a bit in this one. This one follows are bit more direct and linear approach. That's not to say there isn't still some exploring to get through though. I thought the combat in the game was pretty solid and I enjoyed it. There were a few 'scare moments' here and there as you might expect but any well versed video game player may well see one or two coming! Did not come across any bugs. I played and finished it on Standard difficulty.

I don't usually write many reviews for games. If I do it's because they managed to make such an impression on me in some way. The Witcher 3 itself is an amazing game and probably one of, if not, the best RPG of all time. I just got through playing the Blood and Wine expansion and while I mearly expected more content along the lines of it's first DLC 'Hearts Of Stone', I was completely blown away with the sheer scope of it. An entire new zone, 'Toussaint' to plough through and discover. The size of the zone is very decent indeed and is on par with Velan and Skellige but maybe not quite as vast. The setting is absolutely stunning. My favourite looking zone of the whole game without doubt. Colours so vibrant, the developers have done incredible work to make it as beautiful as possible. The story is another grand typical Witcher theme that at first seems quite plain and straight forward but soon fleshes out as you discover more and more about each character. Perfect sounds, awesome visuals and heaps more quests and hidden surprises to keep you 'ploughing' for weeks to come! Not to mention the addition of the Grand Master gear and property management! There is so much here to enjoy that it literally deserves nothing less than the top mark. Probably the best expansion to an already amazing game I have ever played. CDPR have done wonders with this one.

Tomb Raider gets it right again. This is a great game. I enjoyed the 2013 game and I enjoyed this just as much if not more. I sunk 30 hours into it and that only shows how much I enjoyed getting to grips with and finishing the game. A strong story with an old school iconic gaming character that still lives up to her name. The developers have done good for the most part and have released the games third patch already this week fixing a lot of issues and bugs etc that players are experiencing. It's nice that this game launched as strongly as it did even though it does have it's share of some mild FPS issues. I think both graphics and gameplay rock in this one. Would definitely recommend to action/adventure lovers and followers of the series of course.

The emotional rollercoaster is real. This game portrays it to the max. The characters, the choices, the variety of emotional depth in this game are phenominal. I haven't played a game like it, ever. The game has been built on rich story, tough player decision making with maximum impact. It's extremely unique and will probably leave you an emotional wreck by the end of it! The game is more intriguing and compelling than you could say it is 'fun'. However it is an experience nobody should miss. Highly recommended.

Alien Isolation has exceeded my expectations which I find extremeley rare in the gaming industry today. There are not many games that have held me and surprised me as much as this one. Coming off the back of Aliens Colonial Marines was always going to make people sceptical. But the developers have blown all doubts away and released a true Aliens game at long last. This is the closest representation to the original film you will get and it's just awesome! Real authenticity, atmosphere, terror and pure adreneline pumping action that will have you on the edge of your seat for hours. The survival genre has had it's bar set to a new high. As a massive fan of the films I am honored to have such a title apart of the Alien franchise. The game oozes the true authentic style of the 1979 film and has a gripping soundtrack. Graphics are solid and the lighting in the game is some of the best work I have seen. The story and lore is well placed and I don't remember anything not making perfect sense. Having just finished the game I would say it's easily one of my games of 2014. My playing experience included very few bugs and anomolies. This I am very happy with. A big thank you to Creative Assembly, you nailed it!

The Grand-Daddy of the FPS Genre. Doom's 'Older Brother'. A true genre defining classic that paved the way for so many.
There is little to be said about Wolfenstein 3D apart from...ACHTUNG BABEH!
