It's really fun. Cool aesthetics and design work. The gameplay loop is solid and I enjoy the 30-minute intervals. Additionally, the aggression-based matchmaking means I'm with chill folks like 90% of the time. $40 is the sweet spot for a group to buy into. Solo play is difficult at times, but still doable.

Is it perfect? No. Loading into maps late sucks. The quests are repetitive and vague. Trying to find the one item you need for upgrades only for it not to spawn is frustrating. The gun variety is lacking and there is no real "endgame" content.

Still, I've logged 50+ hours and I'm still having fun so I think overall it is worth it.

This feels like a student game. For that, it is well done. All of the mechanics work and the key commands respond as they should. The busy screen effects and sprite labels make it hard to know what is going on. I think whoever produced this has a bright future in game development, and this project has a lot of heart and dedication, but it is not a recommended purchase for me at the moment.

For the developer, I highly recommend moving this to Early Access if possible and I think it could find more success.

Probably the one in the trilogy that I will come back to the most. The combat feels great, the story is interesting, the boss fights include some of my favorite out of any of the Soulsborne games. If you are a fan of the series, you absolutely need to check this out. If you are playing the trilogy for the first time, I would highly recommend starting with DS1 as the quality of life improvements in this one make it hard to go back.

Worth the playthrough. Fun little survival horror with tons of nods to the original Resident Evil games. Melee is frustrating at times, and the characters repeating the same quips becomes grating instead of scary over time. But overall a good time.

Before this game I played and greatly enjoyed Elden Ring, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. I knew going into it that this was the most hated of the Soulsborne series but I was determined to keep an open mind. I would say I enjoyed about half of my time with DS2. The opening was rough, the middle sections were pretty good, and then the game just would not ever end. The final few bosses were not worth the slog through the rest of the game. The criticism about most of the bosses being big people with swords is true and the ones that aren't, while fun, are also very easy.

I really want to finish playing the series, but I'm going to need a LONG break before picking up another Souls game.

I very seldom write reviews, but this game is a masterpiece. Truly, one of the best games I have played in ages. Zelda type puzzles, Persona type social interactions, and commentary of the need to save natural resources and the dangers of commercial tourism. I will be sharing this with everyone I know.

A fun little game full of exploration and simple puzzles. Nice fishing loop. Also it was refreshing playing a game that was creepy without being over-the-top scary. 13 hours of entertainment was well worth the money.

This game is excellent. I never played the original Half Life to completion, I was too young for most of the puzzles, so getting a chance to play the game with updated graphics has been a treat. The back half of the game still feels very modern and I now understand why it is a classic. Well worth the money spent!

I really enjoyed the game. Some of the best character writing since the Mass Effect series. The game has a great reverence for the D&D mythos and the 5th Edition rules, but the weakest part of the game is its combat because of it. Still, it's well worth the money and then some. 120 hours and I didn't complete all of the sidequests and was still finding more to do right up until the end.

A funny, unsettling, and thought-provoking story wrapped up in beautiful hand-drawn artwork. Absolutely fantastic.
