If you like chaos and raging, or even co-op games where everyone has to lock in? Can't recommend it enough!

I don't all the time, so I can't recommend it >.>

This is very much a 'friendslop' game where you and 3 others climb perilous heights and brave the elements together, to reach campfires in each biome you traverse. Each one has its own unique thing going for it, like the Mesa (a desert where you have to avoid the heat), and Alpine (rainstorms come and go, making climbing harder).

Interesting concept...until you play with people who seem to forget that you're not racing to the top >.>

Throughout all of the biomes and elements and hunger stuff, there is a mechanic that encourages sticking together: helping your friends up from a climb, and the scoutmaster. The latter of which punishes the player(s) who leave others behind.

I'm gonna be bashing my friends a little in this review, because on more than one occasion I had to shout in voice chat "HELP HELP HELP" in an overly annoyed tone when they had already turned around to move on from the climb they just cleared...on some occasions, they just left someone who fell and waited there, when there was no way for them to get back up anyway (lots of health lost, hunger, and item weight kept their stamina low). I went down to help, but saw the futility of the action too late.

I can't stress this enough..."leave no one behind" means LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND.

But if YOU get left behind (should be an absolute last resort, but you do you), find someplace to willingly die (another fall, poison food/hazards), and they'll respawn you when they clear the biome.

Might be fun on occasion, but you gotta REALLY be in the head-space to enjoy this sort of game >.>

Early Access Review
Good game, bad developers and discord mod team.

Racism and really creepy behavior came to light around August, and now I simply can't recommend this game at all. Spend your money elsewhere.

Odd, kinda lazy decisions to make for an HD 'remaster'...but overall it's still a great game.

It's the JRPG from 2003 that turns you into a demon and sends you on a journey through demonic-apocalypse Japan to find out what the bloody hell happened, but on PC with voiced cutscenes (some, not all), widescreen support, DLC, and seamless control swapping (go from controller to KB/M and back again quickly...also KB/M feels pretty good, which was surprising to me).

And in that regard, I highly recommend it.

But what I DON'T like about it is how none of the pre-rendered cutscenes were given any TLC (they're still 4x3, just with letterboxing), and the music is compressed to hell...they didn't have to redo the music >.> Just use the uncompressed ones.

But modders are saving the day for the music portion at least, to which I'm grateful for, but also disappointed at ATLUS over. If MODDERS are able to do that much, why can't the devs do it, or better?

Also for anyone who cares (I personally don't), FPS is locked at a number less than 60 >.> I believe there's a mod for that in the works too, but I didn't look into it.

I still enjoy it and don't plan on refunding it, but this could've been better for the price tag. Keep this in mind before buying yourself.

It's good to see this finally get released ^^

The demo was enjoyable, and touched on a really deep subject. The full game went even further, and all I did so far was speed through the first chapter. I can't wait to actually play it for real :3

Also it's strange to say that I'm a robot surrounded by genitals (the guy going 'beep' when you talk to Teleput? That's me!), but damn if it ain't funny.

EDIT: After playing through one ending, I have to admit there was a part that made me almost ragequit (though not due to the content of the game, so much as the difficulty of a particular area), and one part that disturbed me enough that I was considering stopping altogether (cleaning a particular room before someone arrives)...

But I gave it a chance and was happy to have gotten through the challenge and see my avatar leave the scenario on their own ^^ It was fun overall, and I still recommend this game!

There were a few other gameplay things that I found frustrating, like trying to navigate around NPCs that constantly bump into you when you just want to go forward. But that was probably the point. Aside from that one scenario, nothing story-wise had put me off.

The "remastered" version of this game is just HD character models. Save yourself the money and buy THIS version.

Hell, install some mods and you've got a better remaster than what Square put out.

TL;DR, great game so far, but needs a few things ironed out in future patches. Vintage for best bot 2K18.

When I first saw this game's art, I fell in love with the mech known as Vintage. Probably because I'm a nerd and love that stuff >.>

After playing the game and only playing Vintage throughout arcade mode and almost winning my first match online, I gotta say I'm impressed how this game feels! It's a bit floaty, but not overwhelmingly so. Having never played a 3rd person fighting game before, I can't really draw comparisons to other titles in the genre, but I'm sure someone'll find it familiar. The only similarity I can draw is from a niche PS2 title called "Robot Alchemic Drive", in the sense that you're kicking and punching with the shoulder buttons.

The story in Arcade mode is a healthy mix of comedy and action, and I love the sass I'm seeing in Vintage's story mode!

I do have two gripes about the game though, but they're minor at best.

At the time of this review, there is no "disable voice chat" option. When I restarted the game earlier, I noticed a patch that added (among other things I'd assume) a "voice chat volume" slider. But I'm unaware if this truly disables it entirely.

For controller at least, the defaults make sense, but they feel complicated and there's currently no way to remap them in-game. I'm personally having a hard time hitting Square + R1 (X + Right Bumper) and aiming with the right stick, due to that combination being a ranged attack and all. I don't have 2 right thumbs with independent movement range, and I need to move around with my left. Another example is throwing an equipped weapon practically requires you to stand still to hit left or right on the dpad. Any chance of a button remapping patch? Or a simpler control alternative?

All in all, this game needs some patching. But it's fun, and I see a lot of potential in Override ^^

Huh...I've had this game for a year, and I've only reviewed the DLC...LET'S FIX THAT!

This game is a loveletter to the Gamecube era of platformers. It feels smooth, looks great, and I can't even begin to tell you how fun this game is.

The base game is amazing. The soundtrack is beautiful. The characters range from cool, to funny, to adorable. The modding community is awesome. And the devs even added some of the modded levels to the DLC, Seal the Deal.

Seriously, pick this game up. It is worth every penny.

Okay, so this DLC here? Features a difficulty spike, and a new act. If you haven't gotten good yet, you're about to go on a journey to get good.

It will take perseverance, dedication, snacks, breaks because your mental health is important...and maybe some pons.

But you can overcome this difficulty spike.

Also, a lot of community-created content for this game that started off as mods, are now official content. Such as Hat Kid's yellow bow (now a speed hat flair) among others, and even some community time rifts are now an official part of the game.

It's not "mod content on Mac/Consoles", but this is as close as we're likely to get. I hope the next DLC features more community content, as a means to share what these amazing fans have made ^^

Also egg.

Hoo boy, am I glad I got this game for free...

The story felt overly cliche, the missions are basically all the same...protect the city from being completely destroyed, while killing giants and tiny things, AND saving civilians...the controls feel smooth, the skill trees help, and the leaderboard is a nice addition, but it's not enough to save the game.

Save the money. Don't buy this game at full price. Some have said it's worth $30, but I'd argue it's worth even less...$20 if I'm being generous, $15 if not.

I honestly wish I could give this a positive review ._.

I don't think it's a bad game. It looks great, feels great with a controller at least, and has potential to be alright. But it falls short. The controls (again, for controller at least) are different from MGSV's, which is disorienting due to it being built on the same engine. I kind of get why they did this, but the "tutorial" doesn't give you much info to work with.

I had to fiddle with crafting before I figured out that ammo can be crafted, but you have to put it in your gun's ammo stash for it to be used. The game got a LOT easier once I got 100+ rounds of pistol ammo ready to spam.

I'm having infrequent disconnects mid-match during this second beta. Probably normal, but thought I'd bring it up.

The hub area is light gray, with white glowy text and halos...really? I can barely read any of that ♥♥♥♥ because it blends together too well. Who thought THAT was a good idea?

You put a cowboy hat in, but I'm guessing to get a revolver and go full on Ocelot I have to find the recipe? Understandable, but I haven't gotten a revolver yet so I'm disappointed :(

As others have said, this feels more like a mod than a new game. This could've been an additional game mode in MGO, to keep the community interested in TPP. Or they could've finished Kingdom of the Flies >.> Or both. Hint hint, Konami.

I know these reviews are probably NEVER going to be read by Konami, but if by some chance they actually care, push the release date back. Keep working on it, make it feel less like a Metal Gear take on Fortnite's PvE mode...and I swear if you put in a battle royale mode I'm never touching your games again >.> Already leery of your company because you fired Kojima, not to mention the whole "mother base got sucked into a wormhole and all survivors get transported to Skulls-land! WOOOOOO!" thing this game's story has going for it...

If they listen, I may pick this game up and review it again. But for now, I'm not touching the full game, and they can deal with a negative review.
