Playing Final Fantasy VIII feels like opening an old meme folder: half of it is unhinged, half of it is brilliant and all of it is strangely comforting. The junction system looks terrifying at first, but once it clicks, you feel like you're committing war crimes. The story swings between an epic time compression opera and a high school drama where no one knows how to talk about their feelings, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. And the soundtrack deserves a special shoutout for going absolutely feral at all the right moments. If you can embrace a bit of 90s weirdness and forgive Squall for being the human equivalent of “seen 12:01", you’re in for a great time. It’s stylish, melodramatic, a little messy and completely unapologetic about it. The gunblade still slaps.

takes more than one playthrough to realize how cool and unique this game is, if you look past the trippy story and world, the gameplay system is secretly genius, triple triad is a great mini game that breaks the game at the same time.

Mi top 3 de los JRPG, una historia que tiene unos giros increíbles, una banda sonora muy chula, el sistema de GF que aunque hay quién lo critica a mí me gusta, está chulo porque puedes usar las magias que extraes de los enemigos y le dan estadísticas y habilidades a los personajes. Hay muchas invocaciones y mola porque con algunas tienes que pelear para poder usarlas. El antagonista final sorprende mucho al final y el alternar entre Squall y Laguna también fue revolucionario. Lo reocmiendo totalmente ahora y siempre.
