I really wish steam reviews had star ratings instead of either yay or nay. For now I will recomend this game especially if you can get it on sale. I bought it for ~$6 which I am happy with as this game has many redeeming qualities about it. First off the controls are very good, very responsive and not clunky. Art design and music are both very zen and low stimulating which I apperciate. Lots of trails and challenges and the trails all feel very different so its a new challenge everytime. You will constantly find new short cuts and ways to ride each trail. There are only 4 negatives ive noticed so far after ~20hrs of gameplay, 3 so being a complaint and 1 actual bug. First problem is you cannot back peddle. I mtn bike irl and I think this is just silly as you can get stick againt a tree or rock and cannot back peddle therefore you just have to restart checkpoint. Next is the collision, colliding with even the smallest object at a low speed with cause you to "crash" and restart checkpoint, again I find very silly. Third is my final complaint and its that the camera angle is just downright offensive. Im sorry, but on some levels you are blocked by trees or rocks or w/e and can't even see where you're going, its not even about skill at that point its basically 'jesus take the wheel" and a dice throw to see if you'll crash into something behind the rock thats blocking your view. There is a 3rd party mod to enable TP/FP but I have not tried it and dont want to download 3rd party addons. Lastly is the only bug ive experienced is rare but still happens and its that my character will teleport a couple ft. Hard to explain but the game will lag and tp me ahead sometimes causing a crash on a good timed run, minor annoyance but still unpleasant. Other than that this is a very fun game and have enjoyed my time.
