Kind of enjoying the game and really want the series to do well but it's like nothing was learned from the mistakes of the first one.

The map is confusing to tell where you or where you need to travel to since you can't look into a location or zone unless you travel to it. It's especially boring if you are not the host. Being a partner you see nothing of the map and can't even look at your gear or inventory whilst you wait.

There are too many rings and no way to filter them, only set favourites.
All the mutators look exactly the same and there's no favouriting.
Trying to navigate the menu and inventory is still just a terrible experience overall. What is it, left click the gun, right click the mutator, press space to equip the mutator or something?

Too many secrets that I would never ever figure out without looking at wikipedia. Invisible walls, hate it. Unlocking the Archon required datamining. Place an item down, leave the zone and come back.

Still decent and I do intend to keep playing, I enjoy sooo much of it. But I don't know, just seems like a lot of obvious stuff that make it so clunky for such a big game. So much room for improvement. I want this series to be better and feel like it easily could be.

It was interesting and kept me engaged for a while, but it did feel tedious after a few hours and the ending left me feeling empty, robbed and like I'd wasted my time.

I wanted to like this game, I really don't like this game.

Spoilers ahead.

The only 2 things this game has going for it barely even work themselves. The visuals are great, but you're playing from the perspective of a cat, so you're constantly having to stop and look up. If you walk or run the camera just defaults to flat and level which means about 1/3rd of the screen in the whole game is just the floor. This isn't so bad in the first 2 acts as you're mostly climbing up and around but the upper city in particular I constantly felt like I was losing track of where I was, the camera just feels so boxed in and you really can't see much, especially when you're supposed to be looking for the path to take.

Which brings me to movement, it's SO restricting and I hate it. The game feels so linear and boring because you can only jump up things you're allowed to, go places you're meant to be. I want to be a cat, let me figure that out myself and don't force me into things. Just give me my own jump button.

The animations really aren't that good and it becomes even more noticeable in the slow and often unnecessary cut scenes.

The game does start out fun and you don't notice these factors as much once you get a cool upgrade to fight off the Zurks. You even see this huge eyeball in the sewers and are like 'WOAH what is that?!' Well, forget about it because you're never getting the upgrade back and the eyeball is never mentioned again. The game only goes downhill from here.

You get downgraded, all the characters you notice become bland and boring because they all sound the same and not even the dialog or the way they speak has any variety. Why are they even talking to the cat to begin with and not just directly with the drone. You get to the city and you have to do a bunch of chores that when you look back on didn't make any sense and the plot is incredibly vague.

There are a whole HEAP of questions and plot holes that just don't make any sense from this point forward so I won't go into them. You go through some generic af 'don't get caught by the guards line of sight' gameplay and then eventually make your way out of the city.

For all the running you do it would be nice to have a toggle run option.
Quite a number of bugs for such a linear game and some really poorly balanced audio.

No reunion with the other cats, not even second glimpse of the outside world. What an incredibly boring and uninteresting 2nd half of a game. A real let down.

Good physics, enjoyable collection mechanic, beautifully designed areas, looking forward to playing more of this with friends.

Game-play mechanics don't apply well to the bosses, you just sit there and tank most of the hits whilst blasting back so it was fairly dumb.

Had to use a mod to change the field of view because the standard is so narrow it gave me headaches, come on guys the game really isn't that scary that you needed to do this.

Terrible acting and incredibly annoying good guy characters, I felt nothing through most of the cut-scenes and was just glad to finish the game.

Play the first one instead.

This game was great at first, new Seatruck is an amazing vehicle although I somehow never found the booster module which was a huge pain after finding out it existed only after finishing the game. Base building still fun, amazing new creatures, threat of running out of air always a threat at the early stages.

Trying to progress through the story after that though was a huge grind. Most of the biomes didn't feel that unique and having 4 separate and key areas all in the same biome was frustrating once I found out. Snowfox was cumbersome and slow. Cave systems were a bit overly complicated. Small map mean't I had no real need to build any more than 1 base.

I enjoyed the game immensely to start, but I was just glad once it was over.
