Finished it, it was excellent. A completely chill experience and cool little narrative. Love the build up toward an ending that doesn't actually break the tone of the rest of the game too, really well done.

Really well implemented, a few controls missing (or that I can't find in my meagre searching) - such as locking grouped items together. The workshop contributions are straight up incredible though some smart people doing some cool stuff, to the point where I'd say some boardgames are better implemented here than in physical form.

It's a steal at the full price making it a no brainer when it goes on sale.

Great pacing and brilliant use of the controller in a novel fashion.
Quite artistic in terms of music aesthetic and methods of speech but not pretentiously so. Shoots for that indie game "conveying of a theme" and nails it. Some really cool visuals to accompany.

This game is fantastic. Good puzzler without being too obscure. The mechanics are great and level design is fairly simple to follow and thus totally effective. And then there is the overall feeling of the game: Nailed it. I enjoyed every log found and development as they turned up, which is unusual for me. So it's faux philosophy done well. Creepy stones and a little bit of thoughtful reflection to boot. A nice simple ending that ties together all the above too. Satisfying stuff.

This game is incredible. The tone, the aesthetic, the music, the story: all of these meld seamlessly with gameplay mechanics which are simple but fun. One of the few I've played through more than once and where I've enjoyed competing in "challenge areas" (time trials, complete X while only using Y etc).

Early Access Review
Good start. the planets are cool although there's still a lot of bugs. Pretty fun teaming up in wings to take out planet bases. I like that the game's depth is slowly developing as well. Horizons brings better missions in that they're more intricate and make better sense, the level of npc interaction has increased too. Elite has enough in it to warrant being called a full game but its one that also seems to be getting a lot of love and attention from the developers so is constantly getting better. It's not just about adding a bunch of new stuff, they're listening to players and fixing what's not working in the stuff that is already here too. Worth waiting another month or so if bugs put you off but otherwise totally recommended.

Love it. First up the ships are all incredible. Buying one is actually exciting. They're beatifully modelled, rendered, and with unique audio that makes you realise a lot went into them; it was worth it. The starting ship is fun to fly and they all feel different. I can see why people might get bored (the main complaint of the game) as the missions aren't deep and exploration/trade/mining are all pretty repetitive. But being able to swap between them as well as take part in larger communinty goals or try your hand on at influencing the political scene means I haven't hit any entertainment wall yet. Planetary landings is only going to add to the awesomeness. And winging up with others in large online PVE groups (like mobius) means you can try out something a little spicier than solo play without having to go all in for the unique (but often totally random) bag that is open play. Lots of nostalgia from the previous games but with the graphics turned up to full-on gorgeous. Add a H.O.T.A.S. and the experience is just ratcheted up another notch.

TL;DR Plenty of options and an absolutely massive world (there are still plenty of undiscovered systems out there) make it a great game but with the huge flexibility comes a lack of any really strong narrative or direction if that's what you look for in a game.

This was a great game and exactly what I was looking for. Good choices, a bit text laden in places and some balance issues in skills and weapons but the only reason I haven't given it another playthrough after completion is the free upgrade to GOTY edition that's heading out sometime.
