Early Access Review
I haven't played that much yet because I still intend to wait a bit until it's closer to the finished game. But so far I do have a great feeling! There already are a lot of possible ways to construct deadly machines which means that even if you managed to succeed in an area you can try to approach it a bit differently. Plus it can also mean a lot of fun if your construction terribly fails :).

So although this is just version 0.05 - you can actually spend a couple of hours having fun with it and experiment with new constructions. I think it's already worth the money! There are frequent updates and at this point I'm very optimistic that this will turn out to be an amazing game when it's done!

Early Access Review
I do understand that the pledged amount of money from Kickstarter wasn't that much considering the initial scope of 'The Stomping Land'. And sure things can go slow with indie games. There can be long and painful delays. However during the past few months - except for a few short statements - nothing has happened with this game. Not a thing! And yes, crowdfunding does come with the risk that the backed project will stay unfinished. I can accept that (I would never use crowdfunding if that were not the case). But if that's the case I do expect a clear statement. Not dead silence after a few empty promises because that is annoying.

And about this Early Access Version: what's there so far actually does look promising. Unfortunately a the moment it get's boring too soon. With a lot more content and certain changes this could have become pretty interesting but I guess we'll never find out...

As someone who loves traditional adventure games it was a lot of fun to play BoUT2. It looks good, the soundtrack is wonderful, the puzzles are nicely done (btw. I wrote a walthrough while playing – which is why the number of hours I spent with BoUT2 seems higher than usual) and the characters charming. Plus there are many hilarious references (to series, other games, movies...). It is a game that feels right from the first moment on.

However one thing bugged me and that is the ending: From my point of view the narrative structure of BoUT2 fails when trying to build up to a dramatic showdown. It feels a bit like movie where the third and last act is told in five minutes. Also at the end the whole situation didn't seem much than before.

But as much as that annoyed me, it was hard to stay pissed at an adventure game that does so much right. Especially if you already enjoyed the first one not much can go wrong with this sequel. Then again if you didn't like the first one, it might be wise to stay away. The humor is quite similar (though the sequel works better for me and it really didn't feel like seeing more of the same to me) and this time there are no - from my point of view - annoying puzzles like the rain dance or the thing with the potion here. It's not perfect but it's very recommendable.

I think my main problem with this game is that I love Arkham City and Asylum and even though Arkham Origins tries hard to be on the same level in terms of game design it just isn't as good - by far. Plus even though it features Gotham City, this city is just as dead as Arkham City (where this made a lot more sense!). So after all Arkham Origins doesn't add anything new to this amazing series and the gameplay IMO isn't as much fun. Sure, it's not entirely a bad game, and if you don't mind playing more of the same with a lesser quality or if you're new to the series, then it might be worth the money but for me it wasn't enough this time!

The game mechanics are not very good but from my point of view the story most certainly is and the ending moved me a lot! If you already enjoyed 'To the Moon' you might like this one too - though of course the story feels different, less complex (but I'd say it's easy to relate to). However if things like interactivity, puzzles, graphics are very important to you, then 'A Bird Story' is likely the wrong choice. In any case I very much enjoyed it and didn't regret playing for a second.

It's a good point&click adventure game with ups but also downs. I don't dig the visual style but from my point of view the truly wonderful orchestral soundtrack makes up for (almost...) everything and creates a great atmosphere. Some puzzles are good however a few sounded a bit far fetched to me! It happens that you have to solve stuff and only later you find out why you needed to do that (which to be honest doesn't work that well for me in terms of gamedesign). Plus I'm no fan of cliffhangers, especially if it means a long wait for the rest of the story. A part of the story seems completed but it all feels pretty open, as if the most interesting part is yet to come. And still... the suspense is very well done and the intriguing story kept me going until the end, which speaks for the story. Especially the first episode was really intense. So overall it was a very positive, atmospheric experience, despite all my complaints.

Keep in mind that this is not the sort of point&click game where you can move around freely (the game does that for you) plus there are no puzzles in a traditional sense. It's probably more like a short third person audiobook with very light interactive elements, where you are able to click on a couple of objects and dialogue choices, but except for that the game dictates everything else. If you're okay with that, you can expect interesting artwork and a very nice and dark comedy, that can actually get you thinking!

I didn't like the original game so much, but 'Among the Stars' felt like a different game to. Even more so this new version turned out to be one of the most intriguing adventures I've played this year. Especially the exploration part is very well done. It's surprising how good a game can look that is mostly done by only two developers. Plus the puzzles are pretty interesting & the soundtracks is extraordinary.

Took me around 12-13 hours to complete it. I'd say it's totally worth the money. For those who don't like puzzles it might not be the right game (there are a lot of mini games in it though they make a lot sense in the context of the story and do not feel like mini games at all) but adventure fans should most certainly check it out! Very good.
