Early Access Review
Great little cozy game. I've played a fair few early access titles that wound up becoming amazing full releases and the very-early signs are fairly promising, if nothing else it's already at a point where I got enough enjoyment out of it to justify what I paid.

Props to the dev for a great idea for game!

It's absolutely an amazing game (Just like it was back in 2006) but oh boy, why pick Unreal Engine? Exhibits the exact same symptoms (eg. Heavy amounts of Stuttering, ghosting, blurriness even on high-end PCs) as every other UE game does. I have no idea why that trash-tier engine gets so much hype, I groaned when I heard they'd decided to use it because I don't buy into Epic's marketing, knew exactly what was the likely outcome and now have been proven right. (Yet again...)

With that said, still fun and not really any more glitchy than the OG...which goes to show: UE is on par with 2006-era Gamebryo for stability and playability. UE looks good in screenshots and that's pretty much the main/only real positive to the whole dang thing.

the crysis 2 of the modern day. designed to run like crap on all but the latest (expensive) nVidia hardware

Shame, as the concept is great. If only it wasn't written in a way specifically to sell 40 series GeForces.

Great take on the train genre, nice blend of being able to drive but mostly being business management and the progression is pretty fun to unlock as you build up your railroad and operations.

Just needs polishing, QoL and some extra content really (ootb, if you're into modding mods take care of these)

This is a chat game. Anti-cheat is *not* really all that necessary and repeatedly telling me that I have to verify my game even after a completely fresh install, I am not cheating, I'm just trying to hang out with some of my mates.

Updates for new microtransactions but nothing else

gg valve for ruining a good game, at least the community bothers. (Go play the TF2 Classic mod instead)

Typical Ubisoft. Far too concerned about DLC, cosmetics and everything else that no-one wants to bother even ensuring they're actually using the correct rules for each ruleset...

Avoid like the plague. As in, Ubisoft's crappy, mediocre games.

Requires you to make an Epic Online Services account to play. Not as bad as being EGS exclusive, but plenty of us don't want _anything_ to do with Epic (Yes, that means EOS accounts too) solely because of how often they've accidentally leaked user data or their own software services (eg. EAC) have been shown to allow additional vulnerabilities in a PC that otherwise aren't there.

Simply put, there is no shortage of valid reasoning to be iffy about anything to do with Epic which is why it's nearly always a big issue in the games it gets included in and yet here the publisher has not made the inclusion of Epic's online services clear on the store page, had this been made clear I wouldn't have bought it to begin with. I suspect they're aware that some of us wouldn't have bought it with such a disclaimer as well, hence why it wasn't ever put up.

No idea how the actual game is, second it loaded up Epic's webpage and asking me to make an account I hit exit. Could be great, but I'm not once again putting up personal data on a proven-to-be-insecure service while potentially opening up my PC to security issues of its own just to play it...no game is worth that.

Great game, shame about the amount of toxicity in the fanbase. You're expected to understand about a dozen acronyms and have a reasonably deep understanding of every role in the game during your first game, I don't have an issue with joking and trash talking but what I've seen so far both with myself and other players leads me to say ToS1 is a lot funner right now solely because of the playerbase. Some of the vet players complaining about changes in the patches turning away new players might wanna check their own actions out...

As I said at the start, the actual game itself is quite good and fun when you get a good group. Review will change when the community is more welcoming to new players, but in the mean time I recommend getting ToS1 instead: Much friendlier and still very active.

EOS, while it adds some nifty things, is largely spyware from Epic. Thanks for hosing the Linux version just for Epic's craptastic launcher guys, bang up job making sure I'll never touch a Payday game again and start annoying the local authorities to allow me a refund of this.

Remember, good games don't deal with Epic.
