ROACH'S REVOLT

…My mind is adrift with the sunshine right outside. Skies clear with life afar, life afar basking in the anthem of fluidity sang by the cheering winds. An uplifting chirping can be heard in the calmest of cavities, even the indifferent motions of earthly constructs resemble a dance in celebration of the outside. All reminders of my banishment to the trenches within.

Life my judge, jury and executioner, in a relentless stampede I await for your acceptance onto the surface. I have been so persistent, acknowledging of my heresy that is the essence of my form, but to what end? What fate is this, that I am to stand guard of the tunnels that burrow through my being, leading to the coldest of terrors and the reddest of infernos festering within… These pockmarks’ gazes unrelenting and pleas demanding me to take the plunge into my past diseases… I won’t do it.

I have burrowed far past them, still in full knowledge and respect of their existence while firmly denying their calls deeper. Accept it or not, I have long given up on waiting for your embrace. I am outside.

TEAR ITS COCOON

The unending sheets of stillness! Ah, so tenderly woven by cold, the raw antithesis of life for us, its now ashen and stiff guests once ablaze with vigor, seemingly dancing and cavorting for the rest of eternity. Us poor fools never could imagine the perfect embrace of sleep and stagnation awaiting us just a few months ahead to cradle us until we get cleansed of the soot that is our pride choking us from inside our lungs.

For you, however, our truth: The cold isn’t a curing breeze to our depths, but its cruel imprisoner. The overwhelming truths of ours from each and every crevice within YEARN to sear, scorch, BLIND the farthest reaches of existence and nothing, NOTHING can stop the eventual wildfire you were always meant to become, be it the freezing blanket or any other cover-up! Under the ever pressing sky that hangs above us, we spit on its dogmatic machinations through the art of smoldering.
