Imagine you're playing a really fun and elaborate (but not complicated) tabletop game that expertly manifests that most excellent mark of excellence: Easy to learn, difficult to master. The multiple factors that affect your progress are very well balanced, making every choice you make , as insignificant as it may seem, matter. I usually hit the tedium wall with most games at around 60 to 80 hrs, and that's if I like them. I've been playing this game like a hopeless junky for over 130 hrs and I'm still hooked. Get it.

Starfield is boring. Its developers completely failed to capture any sense of wonder, mystery, intrigue or humanity. They took the elements that made the first few Fallout games great, thoroughly hammered out any fun left in them, and then forcibly inserted them into this bland and bloated disappointment. It consistently suffers from a glaring lack of innovation, psychological common sense or anything else interesting, really. Move it along, there really is nothing to see here.

This game excels at being annoying as F. It's not scary at all or challenging in any fun way. I'm pretty sure the developers are having a good laugh at the expense of anyone foolish enough to buy this pos.

A solid table-top strategy title, fun and gritty. I wish the combat had just a tad more complexity as far as special abilities and moves but I understand if it tries to stick to a simple formula.

I was disappointed. The devs clearly bit off more than they could chew. The game suffers from bad planning and so it was forcefully stuffed into a box, wrapped in heavy insulating tape and kicked down the line. Ironically, the theme of haphazard engineering practices humorously depicted throughout the game mirrors its real life production quite well.
What promises to be an open world, story driven exploration and crafting game modeled on the brilliance of Subnautica (which it pays homage too on a few occasions), starts out well but then devolves into a linear FPS disaster full of loose ends and useless resources. Finally found that blueprint for a window you can build on your pointless habitat that you can't ever get back to? Sorry, you're out of luck because there is no glass anywhere! Want to explore this cool part of space and build yourself that second base you've been planning with all the new blueprints you've found? Nope, sorry, you're trapped in your crappy little ship for the rest of the linear story line. Enjoy!
The devs promise more content for free. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm ready to write my review.
Opinions are mixed on this game, but all of the negatives are borne out of frustration with the level of challange it presents. Don't let that dissuade you. It delivers.

Say hello to your new mistress. Subnautica is beautiful, she'll keep you busy, she'll keep you intrigued, but don't get complacent or she'll kill you. Have fun.

Unturned is annoying. I don't penalize games for graphics or difficulty (I love Rimworld and Darkest Dungeon), but this game is just annoying (did I say that already?). Basically you have to crawl around on your stomach at a snails pace to pick up a few basic items without getting noticed, and you still die from poisoning or infection or whatever. I know, I know, its free; suit yourself, don't take my advice and waste your time then (and get annoyed).

This game is sublime in its ability to simulate an open ended world with seemingly simple elements. There was nothing I couldn't get my colonist to do; a micromanager's dream.
