Early Access Review
Game about a battery-powered robot that swims around on a ship and scraps devices, garbage, and hostile robots left by humanity. Involves manually connecting cables and pipes, "charge/fuel this device" mini-quests, repairing half-broken pre-existing buildings.

At the time of writing, it's certainly rough around the edges, with multiple bugs (mostly minor) and annoyances, poor performance, uninspiring combat, but the game manages to be fun despite that.

Too easy: I completed most missions with optional objectives maxed on my first try.
Low gameplay variety: All missions boil down to "check what is/will be needed, build that". There are no real choices, no alternative solutions, no real benefits to specialization. Every base ends up very similar.
Menial tasks for the player: The game bothers the player with "click here for a bonus/avoidance of penalty" tasks. As in, literally "click this critter to turn it to money". Decorating rooms is also a chore that requires many clicks with little thought.
Game-ending bug: My game stopped processing actions and movements, while still counting down needs and health. Save+load didn't help.

Painful UI in a game where clicking buttons on UI is half the difficulty.

An interesting idea, but shallow and flawed implementation.

The difficulty relies more on player not knowing what to do than on picking the right strategy, autoscrolling text with giant letters that barely fit in UI means that reading longer descriptions (booster packs) requires hovering over an item for up to 10 seconds. Next to zero replayability, primarily because of the reliance on lack of knowledge.

EDIT: Island update addressed the "4 hours of content" bit.

Interesting tactical game featuring mechs that can be built and modified on the fly.

Pros:
-UI shows you what the enemy will do. This really helps the new players, without making the game easier for experienced ones, who have a good "feel" of it anyway.
-Undo last move (unless you attacked). Combined with the above, speeds up learning a lot.
-Combat stats are low numbers. Every tile of range or speed matters, +2 damage can be a big difference, there are no "+5% dmg to undead in Mondays" type bonuses.
-Variety in robot transport, body and weapon parts (except for +hp duplicates...). Meaningful variety, like "moves much faster on roads", "has extra gun slot", "summons drones" etc.
-Variety in enemy types. Chargers who can't attack without space to charge through, enemies who get more dangerous when left damaged but not killed, even simple "can move diagonally" can greatly affect battle outcomes, AoE enemies who are very dangerous but can be easily baited onto mines by positioning bots to exploit their AoE-hungry AI.
-Can issue orders without waiting for animations to finish. Lets the game "look alive" while not being tedious.
-Good game design, not just "more stuff"

Cons:
-Bugs! At the time of writing, total hang-ups and severe visual problems (bot drawn few tiles away from real position) are common, like ~1 bug per hour. Autosave after turn helps, but you still need to quit to menu or even restart the game pretty often.
-Many bot parts are "other bot part but with a bit more hp". Upgraded "bit more hp" parts are much more expensive than the regular parts.
-Heavy metaprogression.
-Resource harvesting can turn into "milking" when you kite the last remaining enemy until you exhaust energy spots.

Instant "don't recommend" for the way DLC is handled: you get drops of items that are not usable without DLC-only characters.

Other than that:
Pros:
-No-nonsense main gameplay where you just fight waves of enemies in a classical, turn-based JRPG scheme. No pointless walking simulators between fights, random encounters or similar.
-Cute coomercore artstyle for characters

Cons:
-The way DLC is handled.
-Classic JRPG genericness gives the game a powerful "just another RPG Maker game" feel. Story, monsters, sounds - all of those could pass for stock content straight from RPG Maker.
-Most of "difficulty" is about grinding more.
-Despite looking like a 2D game from early 00s, it somehow manages to run slowly on hardware that is just low end and not a complete toaster.

Card battler where you choose what enemy does (out of a list of 3) and have to match red/blue cards to red/blue reactions. Picking and shuffling enemy reactions is an important mechanic and when done right (with luck), can prevent the enemy from actually attacking. Rerolls are possible, but penalized.

Pros:
Original gameplay
Simple, well-communicated mechanics

Cons:
Very resource hungry for its visuals and calculations
