An oracle told me that the Game of the Year 2025 was going to be made by a studio who found the formula to make it up onto the stage. It's stupidly simple, but somehow it keeps on getting lost.

The studio made their game because they wanted to make a game that they wanted to play themselves. They created it because it hadn't been created before. They didn't make it to increase market share. They didn't make it to serve as a brand. They didn't have to meet arbitrary sales targets or fear being laid off if they didn't meet those targets.

And furthermore, the people in charge forbade them from cramming the game with anything whose only purpose was to increase revenue and didn't serve the game design.

They didn't treat their developers like numbers on a spreadsheet. They didn't treat their players as users to exploit. And they didn't make decisions they knew were shortsighted in function of a bonus or politics. They knew that if you put the game and the team first, the revenue will follow.

They were driven by idealism and wanted players to have fun. And they realized that if the developers didn't have fun, nobody was going to have any fun. They understood the value of respect, that if they treated their developers and players well, those same developers and players would forgive them when things didn't go as planned.

But above all, they cared about their game because they loved games.

'It's really that simple', said the oracle.

I can't really say what makes me like this game so much. I can say for sure though that if you are specifically looking for a truck simulator, this is the one. And if not, maybe try it anyway. There is something special about the task of driving a truck through Europe, even if it doesn't sound like it.

Cute and mechanically chill game with lovable characters in an intriguing story.

Very fun objective-based team FPS for people who aren't doing that great in competitive shooters usually (like a friend of mine).

Servers are down right now and there's no offline solo play except for the tutorials. Perks of online only...

PAYDAY 3 is a mixed experience. The gameplay has so much improved over PAYDAY 2 with a ton of new stealth mechanics and smooth as well as intense loud play. But everything around that is a downgrade in my view. The menu, HUD, the progression system, matchmaking (no, you can't open or join a lobby via a good old server browser, it's all quickmatch - and also: online only, which means when the servers are down, you cannot play).

There have been been improvements and also new content has been added since release, so I now rate this game just so slightly positive. Still, I would only recommend this if you are really into the gameplay part PAYDAY offers, else wait for more updates.

Hi [FRIEND_NAME_HERE], you have to check out this game. It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years.

The game encourages teamwork and is most fun when all four unique classes play together. However, this is no hassle as the community is really friendly and helpful overall.
The developer cares about this game and the community and has great attention to detail; new free updates are released continuously and the only paid content is cosmetic.
DRG is the coop FPS experience you were looking for. ROCK AND STONE!

Always worth a play due to it being two games in one: a game about stealthing on the one hand and one of the best co-op shooters around on the other hand. Still get's updates and new DLCs (as of 2020).
