PlanetSide 2 features a massive never-ending epic war between three Empires. In the game, you get to experience surreal massive warfare in real-time where thousand of real players, made up of different classes of infantry, vehicle, and aircraft all rampaging on the same battlefield fighting for total control over continents on the planet of Auraxis.

For new players: The game has a steep learning curve, so do expect to die a lot, war has no mercy after all. The game is also best played with a team, highly recommend you to join an active and organised Squad/Platoon/Outfit, you will get special forces feels. Feel free to ask questions if unsure, the community is very friendly in general, especially towards newbies. The game is not P2W too, your starter weapons are some of the best in the game, it simply takes a while to find the right attachments or master them. Paying grants benefits such as cosmetics, faster weapon unlocks, skip wait queues, bonus XP, etc., none that actually inflate your gaming "skills".

For everyone that has previously played PlanetSide 2 and thought the game couldn't get any bigger: Well, lo and behold, a gigantic beast of a warship - the Bastion Fleet Carrier, has been added to the game. Now the colossal Colossus tank is rolling on the ground too. And you have all of that chaos happening against a backdrop of near constant orbital strike bombardments.

I really enjoyed playing this game and decided to introduce it to my dad.
And my dad absolutely love playing this game too!
And he started playing the game way too much...
And eventually he forgot he has a son, well, except when I come online in-game and plays together with him.
And the moment I goes offline, that's it folks, my dad has no son.
And he is actually in-game playing PlanetSide 2 while I am writing this review too.
Was it all worth it though? Totally!
Being able to immerse oneself in a game that is capable of such massive warfare is like a dream come true for my dad.
As long as he's happy, I'm happy. So yes, totally worth it!

Definitely recommended, 10/10 would get forgotten by their dad again!

Update2: Dad unlocked everything he wanted and he now has so much extra certs he don't know what to do with them.
Update3: Dad reached A.S.P. level.
Update4: Dad unlocked A.S.P. using 10k certs.
Update5: Dad is currently on a crusade to complete all the Directives.
Update6: All Directives completed, and dad unlocked A.S.P. using 10k certs on another character.
