Played the free weekend.

Here's my new player experience:

You load into a random map at a random location, with several random doorways and hallways in every direction. There is no minimap, so you are immediately lost as to where you are in the map. You don't know where to expect anything.

Now this is expected to a certain degree in any game you play for the first time, but then the round ends and now you're at another random location in the map. Once again lost. Repeat this for 3-6 rounds and then you load into a map and do it all over again.

To me this made learning the map layouts extremely frustrating, The only way to know where you are in the maps is to play them enough until you can easily recognize your location / orientation in areas just by looking at them. Alternatively you could play coop vs AI over and over until you learn the maps that way. Most of this frustration could be alleviated if there were an in game mini map. At least then you could see the general map layout and have some sense of direction / location.

Operators:
Operators are basically "classes" in this game. I personally dislike the idea of having classes in a game like this. Where they all have different gimmicks leading to all sorts of game balance issues. I would of enjoyed this game much more if there was some kind of "vanilla" mode where everybody is forced onto the same level playing field. Such as a "Recruit Only" mode which has been suggested every now and then.(Recruit is the generic starting operator with no special abilities).

Was considering buying it before trying the free weekend. Lost interest in buying it after that.

Game is run by community devs who abide by PC cancel culture and will ban you from the entire game if you say non-PC things.
