Another one of those top early access games that for some reason needs DLC even thou it was not mentioned beforehand. A good way to generate additional money and f**k of your players. Fun game but negative because DLC.

Was good back in the day in early access, but now the unending wallet opening motions to buy the DLC render me unable to move the mouse far enough to the right to leave a positive review.

Really good and game especially with quality of life mods. Loved it for the first years but then it got bought by take2 and now we have DLC. It does not matter how good the game is, the moment DLC is added it is an auto-negative so here we are.

+ interesting quests and an absolute chad of a storyline with a meme ending
+ lovable world with memorable inhabitants
+ insane size of the city. you will get lost here without a map
+ a lot more use of animations and cinematic camera. also uses three-way dialogue
+ expanded on established systems like more subskills (cooking or bowmaking) or bountys
+ balanced really good - not too hard, not too easy

- dialogue can kill you sometimes (happened only twice in a playthrough, yet makes no sense whatsoever. why offer an option that kills the player in the first place? g1 and g2 never did this.)
- being a mage is pain (highly discussed topic. i liked the magic feel in g1 with low spell cost. here the price per spell is so high that you have problems with 2 or more opponents. and even then you refil your mana all the time. also you dont can be promoted with only mage skills at the guard or the trade guild. also later circles are storygated)


All in all its insane that this is free. This is g3 in my private little world and i consider everything in there canon.
If you wish you could forget everything about g1 or g2 sometimes just to experience them fresh again: here is your chance. Not knowing every nook and cranny, the need to buy a map, not knowing every quest decision tree by heart while having a true early 2000s gothic expierience?
