Overall, a good experience that allows it's own engine to get in the way of fun sometimes. There are some truly baffling decisions, such as the game only allowing you to list 6 songs at once in a playlist, unless you buy an item that allows you to upgrade to 8. This just lead to me having to stop my car, fiddle around in the music player to fix things, and then do it all again 20ish minutes later. Combat also got very repetitive at the middle/end of my run. There's too few variety in encounters and once you work out a fairly efficient way to deal with them, the game starts to drag. Overall the experience and atmosphere of this game is what makes it feel worth it. There are a lot of different ways you can let the adventure play out, and the music and visuals really emphasize the feeling of adventure as a young adult. For me personally, I don't see myself replaying the game, but I generally enjoyed my playthrough outside of my gripes with some of the design, and think it's a good experience for a roughly 4 hour run.

This game does a really good job at making you question your choices and feel invested in trying to make good decisions. Great ost and art design as well.

A hall of fame great game. Most games tell you a story and let you decide the direction you want to end it, this game truly makes you a part of the story. I don't say this lightly, it's really an incredible experience.

I've played a lot of indie RPGs over the years and can safely say that Shadows of Adam stands out from the crowd as one of the better ones I've played. Having scripted encounters instead of random encounters makes exploring dungeons far less frustrating than other titles I've played, and boss fights are all well balanced and interesting encounters. The music and animations are really top notch, and the game really feels like a 90s era SNES title at heart. For people like me who enjoy nostalgia RPG experiences, I would highly recommend this game.
