Honestly astounding how they made the Xen levels, which were honestly the weakest part of HL1, into the most beautiful and thrilling part of the entire game. Start to finish rollercoaster. Masterpiece.

The game in it's current state is not fun, mainly due to the lackluster animations, overall large amount of bugs, questionable gameplay mechanics, repugnant movement system and so on. If you think I'm complaining because this game is too "realistic" or "hardcore" for me of something like that, ArmA 2, a military simulation game from 2008 had a more realistic and overall far better movement system and gun mechanics than this does. You crawl around a massive map at a snail's pace (what is supposed to be a full sprint,) and the number of microtransactions gives me flashbacks to how Payday 2 was a year ago. If you want a realistic, functional, good feeling and good looking camping and hunting simulator, go play DayZ standalone. I'm not kidding.
