This game is truly legendary! Works well as a Single player experience, but really shines and becomes more fun with friends! Unfortunately it's only Local Multiplayer... so, good luck with that one! Wanna play online? Then I recommend "Parsec" Google it. You won't regret it.

I always preferred Rayman origins, but this game will always remain in a special nook in the crevice of my heart. ❤️

Rayman Legends 100% ALWAYS Overshadows this game. And that's a darn shame, because this game is in many ways much better.

Just play it, please. It's worth it I promise you. ❤️

WAKKA WAKKA!

I loved this game back in the old Playstation days. This remaster is beautiful looking! I find the games bosses to be much too easy at times, especially compared to the original. And in the case of the final Toc-Man boss, I definitely preferred it as it was...

But bringing back this amazing game to both old fans AND new fans is great! I'm all for it!

GET THIS GAME RIGHT NOW OR I'LL CHOMP YA!

I had this game in my library for quite some time after I got it on sale, and was reluctant to play it for a while after hearing horror stories of just how hard the combat was.

I finally played it... and I'm HOOKED! (Warning: Minor spoilers ahead)

From the very moment this game opens up, "Henry" the character you play as, starts out his day being woken up late by his mother. Being beaten up by a drunkard, getting into mischief with his friends, and learning a valuable life lesson from his Dad.

Then... things fall apart. Your village is attacked, and everything you knew is over. You feel like a hopeless passerby, a real civilian with no combat training.

What I love about this game is how you start out as an ordinary villager, and then progress and better yourself in honour of your parents, and doing them proud. Of course, the game gives you choices. You can turn out to be a right villain if you want to, breaking the lore, killing innocents and stealing. But I feel the character of Henry is at his best when you better his skills, help out the people, and honour your parents.

I haven't yet finished the story, but I am excited for what is left to come!

The game-play is really fun, it reminds me of Elder Scrolls very much. And actually, the combat isn't as "clunky" as I had heard about. It's surprisingly fun, but it is rather complex and requires you to actually learn how to fight. You can't go into this game expecting to button mash. Every attack needs to be thought out and properly executed. It's almost impossible to come out of a fight with one fully armoured enemy and NOT be hit at least once. The timing of the blocks, as well as the angle you block at are crucial.

The hardest this game gets is when you are fighting a few enemies at the same time on your own. Being backed into a corner by 4 relatively armoured bandits on your own doesn't end well. I have died 20+ times re-spawning for the same fight, only to be frustrated at my many failed attempts. However, regardless of my repeated shortcomings, I find the combat to be enjoyable and fun to learn.

One thing that sets this game apart from other RPG games, is that progressing through levels isn't what really helps you beat every encounter, but your patience to learn how to properly fight and use a weapon. You can fail a hundred times at the same thing, but winning on that 101st attempt is the most satisfying feeling you can get from this game. The sheer joy I felt winning the first round in the tournament, after losing round 1 every time previous. It just makes me want to improve.

I'm sure that there are flaws with this game, but I really haven't noticed. I'm just having fun, and I can't recommend it enough. ❤️

Question: What's the biggest problem with most games in today's market?
Answer: They are made by "suits" who aren't interested in creating a fun video game, but a "product" to earn money.

This game is made by an absolute GOD TIER human being. Seth originally reached out to me to play the demo for Mother Hub over a year ago. I even offered my voice talent to the game for free, and got a handful of my friends in on the action too. The game was very unfinished at the time of the demo and needed a lot of polish. BUT, I could tell that the game had potential.

Fast forward to today and this game has an incredible atmosphere to it. It's eerie and mysterious from the very beginning of the game. It throws you straight in, without any foreknowledge of what to expect, and you kind of go from there and work things out.

Everything from the atmosphere, to the game-play and environments, and the style all feels very early 2,000s. I'm reminded of "The Library" from Halo Combat Evolved, and games such as Dead Space, and Half Life. It really nails that old classical feeling that old futuristic horror games had right down to an art form.

The game is a very short experience, that will leave you wanting more. I went through the game in one 3 hour sitting, and it was very enjoyable, but I had a thirst for more! I recommend another game set in the same universe as Mother Hub by the same creator titled "Habilis" If you are wanting more of Mother Hub, I highly recommend that game! Another short experience, but it really adds to the world building.

If you play Mother Hub without listening to any of it's many audio logs, or reading the many text boxes that pop up as you play and examine things in the world, then you are in for a short 1 hour run through at most. But the story comes mostly from exploring, and examining dead bodies, listening to your audio Journal, and paying close attention to key details said by the various characters in the game. It unravels the story steadily and leaves you excited for what really happened at Mother Hub.

The game has 4 different endings, Ending 4 being my personal favourite. Each of them leave you with the hope for a sequel to this game someday.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is not to say this game is perfect by any means.

My biggest gripe with this game is the journal updates. It was genuinely very hard for me to notice at times when I got a new Journal entry, and I felt I had to keep pressing "J" to check every so often. I'd usually find I'd have a handful more audio logs and things to look at and listen to. I was just so lost in the games atmosphere that I just didn't notice. I wish there would have been a much bigger and noticeable indicator for when I got a new Journal entry, or a more noticeable sound effect at least.

My other problem is just in general how many there were in such a short succession. It really does feel like you take 10 steps in a direction and you unlock a new Audio log to listen to. It really fills up your Journal if you don't look at it for a while, or ruins the pacing by you having to essentially pause and read/listen to things constantly. It takes you right out of the experience sometimes. However, that isn't to say that the story isn't interesting, it certainly is! But makes the game feel longer than it needs to be, almost like filler. I feel the game should have had either more levels or bigger levels. More space to play with, and more room to space out all those audio logs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the BEST way to play this game, is to play with the intention of going through the story, reading and listening to everything and doing your best to work out what really happened at Mother Hub...
THEN, on a second play-through, ignore all the Journal entries and dialogue, and just play through and experience the game in it's shortest form. A classical horror experience uninterrupted, no reading or listening to audio logs. Just enjoying the atmosphere and progressing at your own pace through the creepy environment.

In final conclusion, this game is a solid 8.5/10 for me! I absolutely LOVED getting to voice act for this amazing game, and finally play the finished full game after so long watching it come together behind the scenes. I have loved every second of this amazing journey!

This game is definitely worth checking out if you love old school horror/sci-fi experiences!
