MURHPHEY
Never buy into hype or gorgeous graphics. Anyone can advertise a highly attractive game without spending crucial development time. Great games take a long time to make and some of the greatest ever made took some 5 or more years. Mediocre games can be found anywhere and are nothing special. Never settle for a "good game" because there are great games out there just waiting for you to experience. Never settle for mediocrity and demand only the best content from developers.

The spine of any game is called the core game play mechanics. If the mechanics of a game aren't solid, then everything else made on top won't be either. So never get bought into something just because it looks cool. Pay close attention on what the actual game play is and then you will never get buyer's remorse. Never play games that hold your hand and always seek to be challenged.

Proper balance and progression is what makes a game fair and fun. Whether it's single or multiplayer, there must never be an unfair advantage between the player and the game. All the victories a player achieves should be through the player's growing skill and knowledge of the game. Most people are tricked into believing they are good only because they are given overpowered weapons or tools. You should only play games that are hard to progress and get better at. You will never reach beyond your limit when you're too afraid to find out what your limit is.
