I can only echo the sea of positive feedback and sentiment towards the game, while also hoping we get a much expanded second instalment in the future. Or perhaps a DLC/expansion of it that uses some of the cut content that didn't make the final game.

Definitely a well-deserved Steam Awards 2025 Winner.

Tarkov and Battlestate Games have their issues, many if not all of which you'll have read by spending a couple minutes reading through the top Steam reviews of it (Unheard Edition, pre-Steam owners not getting a Steam key and the infamous back-and-forth "wiggle" cheating expose video on YouTube just to name a few). But for better or for worse, there's no other game like it.

I had over 1500hrs in the game before it came to Steam, and even today there's still things I'm finding out about or otherwise learning about the game that I didn't know before. If you're considering getting into the game or are new to it, watch through Pestily's RAID series on YouTube as he'll do a playthrough on a standard account with high-effort editing and guides for how to do things. Also watch the Field Guide/Basics series of videos on the Battlestate YouTube while your game downloads to get the essentials down-pat.

Additionally check out reemr.se for some of the highest-quality maps you can have up on another monitor while you learn your way around Tarkov. Tarkov.dev, the EFT wiki, TarkovTracker.org, RatScanner and TarkovMonitor are additional resources (some of which talk to each other) that you can use to further build out your Tarkov experience.

If reading the other reviews here put you off wanting to get into the game, then fair enough. Like I said, the game does have its issues and whilst currently there's zero cheating activity thanks to 1.0 changes that BSG made to the game, when it's bad it's *really* bad (as in cheaters in sometimes 5 of every 10 raids) and this cheat-free period won't always be the case. At least for this, there's the PvE mode if you'd rather play with the Scav AI and filler/bot PMCs instead of other players or the unofficial SPT Tarkov mod for the game if you'd prefer to run your own custom and self-hosted Tarkov experience (it's even getting VR support).

Tarkov is the FPS that ruined all other FPS' for me. It has its faults for sure, but playing any other FPS always leaves me thinking "I'd rather be playing Tarkov". That to me was worth shelling out for an Edge of Darkness edition of the game over 5 years ago now, upgrading that to the Unheard Edition at the time it came out (despite the controversy surrounding it, most benefits also got retroactively applied to existing Edge of Darkness edition owners) and technically buying it again on Steam in continued support of the game.

I can only echo the other positive feedback from everyone else here: this is a game that stayed with me for over a decade. Pretty surreal to think it was put together by a bunch of random people on 4Chan.

I played this in school as a teen, first VN I'd ever tried, I still listen to the soundtrack today and still think about it now and then more than a decade later. It was part of my teenage years, and I strongly encourage anyone that comes across this game to give it a try. It was my introduction to the VN genre and set a bar I'm still yet to see something else surpass.

The Steam version has the R18/adult content with each girl removed, and whilst you can play through the entire game without it (one of the original praises people sang about the game on its initial release more than a decade ago) those scenes do add additional depth and character to the story. So if you want to restore them to the Steam version of the game, be sure to download the R18 Steam Patch from https://www.katawa-shoujo.online/download and then enable adult content in the game's menu once applied.

Lilly route best route.

Spawned in with a mate, made a base, after we made the base there was a flash storm, ran back to the base, got struck by lightning in the doorway, I died, my corpse spread fire to the base which promptly went up in flames.

10/10 would get 2 simultaneous achievements again. Game's pretty good too.

Great fun if you're a fan of rogue-likes, fantastic graphics quality and Risk of Rain-esque mechanics and boss fights. Even better co-op!

Looks great, runs great, feels great.

Issues with the game dropping keyboard input (tons of threads on Reddit and various forums about it), bland gameplay and just about the worst AI I've ever seen in an FPS.

Installed the game, opened it up just to get all the achievements from BattleNet progress and closed it. Tried to uninstall it and found the game wasn't even closing properly, had to terminate it from Task Manager.

Well done Blizzard. Can't even bring an existing game to another platform without screwing it up.

Don't roll the DICE on this one. I did, because like everyone else I was holding out hope that Battlefield would save us from the monotony of game releases this year.

But it hasn't, and I wish I didn't. The game plays acceptably on my 5950X and 6900XT (~144fps at 1440p Ultra settings), but there's so many parts of it that're broken elsewhere (see other reviews for page-length lists) it's just sad. They got a lot of things right with BFV, I don't know why they went so backwards with 2042.

TL;DR: If you can tolerate the typical Bethesda jank in the game, it's surprisingly solid and I'd give it a go if you like the Fallout series.

I went into Fallout 76 with pretty low expectations given the games reputation shortly after launch, especially after having played Fallout 3 and 4. But after about 50 hours with some side-questing and a little grinding for the best power armour, I've completed the base games quest-line and overall it's pretty great.

While at launch I can see how the game would've lacked enough content to keep people happy (with it taking me just over 2 weeks of playtime to complete the base game's story-lines) since they've added the expansions I feel like I'm just getting started. Base/camp customisation is great, too.

The main downsides for me are recurring bugs that shouldn't be there; quest markers not appearing on the HUD, instances bugging out and especially how bad the servers run at times (sometimes during questing actions you do will take 30 seconds to be registered on the server) are the main detriments.

Overall though, if you like the Fallout games and have some friends to play with, I'd definitely give it a shot. 7/10 is worth the ~$15 for the game IMO, and considering there's easy-to-do mods that fix some of the QoL issues with the game in addition to the base game containing all the DLC, it's worth the money.
