Usually hate games like this. This one pisses me off a lot because I suck, but it feels rewarding when I don't die. Didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I am.

** 20-hr Review **
It's still a great game, but I decided to stop because I realized that it's basically gambling; that isn't for me. What little recourse you have after grinding for hours only to lose almost everything doesn't justify doing it all over again. Idc if it's a skill issue. I gave it a fair shake.

Probably the most overlooked worthwhile RPG.

Amazing story, interesting and unique combat mechanics, plenty of world space to explore, steady and rewarding character progression.

This might be old, but it is absolutely worth your time.

I PVP like complete, festering, cancerous scum, and enjoy getting put in Steam groups meant to undermine my reputation in the Dark Souls PVP community.


I pride my success on several valuable items and some corresponding strategies:


1. Washing Pole - Only use running R1 attacks.

2. Dark Sword - Press R1 until the enemy is out of range, or until stamina is exhausted.

3. Follower Saber/Carthus Curved Sword - Two-hand, and light-attack until the opponent is dead.

4. Black Knight Shield w/ Great Magic Shield - Use spell, then with your shield raised, fish for backstabs until the enemy has been dealt with.

5. Obscuring Ring w/ Bow - Invade fight clubs, maintaining sufficient distance from the host and any participants, then wait for the current duel to draw near to a close, ending it yourself with an arrow to the face of the weakest combatant.

6. Black Separation Crystal (While Invading) - Upon dire circumstances, or if you are about to lose a duel and you are out of estus, flee a reasonable distance and teleport out with just enough space so the enemy/enemies can hit you while invincibility frames are active.


Buy this game, and keep the above information close to your heart; you may thank me for it one day.

After much consideration and a slightly positive review, I am going to say that I cannot recommend this game now. I've come to realize that the developers defined this game based on criteria that it doesn't match. While this game is innovative, I cannot justify a purchase from a dishonest team. Look into other games like Elite: Dangerous if you are into space exploration; this isn't the one.

This game might be good for the super-casual gamer or a 5 year-old, but this was a complete, UTTER waste of money for me. Not entertaining at all. Also, I bought it externally through a random Steam Key. Never doing that again. As much as I encourage people to keep making good games, I can't stand Indie games. Fit and finish, but not for me.

The concept is a great one, but I had the most difficult time adjusting to the controls with both keyboard and Xbone controller; couldn't even pass the tutorials. Maybe some other people are decent at it, but not for me. A disgusting, complete, utter waste of 4 hours of slaving at my job.

Absolute garbage without a game controller. I can't really give a good or bad rating until I own a controller, so just keep that in mind before you purchase. Wishing I hadn't dropped the $40 (right this second at least).
