And sorry for the confusing AI behavior. That does sound like a bug, and hopefully you've seen by now that we patched the character creation UI to include a partner preference choice (which you can change later via any mirror). AI *should* be honoring that choice in all cases.
If it is still misbehaving, please post a bug on either our forums or Discord, and we'll see about getting it fixed. Thanks!
I'm playing and loving the game, but something caught my attention. I clearly chose "him" as pronoun (so I assumed male and heterosexual), yet my character keeps having dreams about another man — at first I thought it was his father, but now I'm not so sure — and I just saw a log message stating he's attracted to everyone.
Let me be clear: I have no issue with the pronoun options, and I understand the game has mature themes, including this kind of content. But if I'm the one defining the character’s background, early life, and roleplaying his choices, isn’t it fair to expect the game not to contradict that?
I don't think this was intentional, but it does affect immersion. It feels like the game is making that choice for me, rather than responding to mine.
I’d like to suggest adding an "attraction preference" option during character creation, just like pronouns. That would help support different roleplay styles more clearly.

My main thing is that I want my communities to be respectful to each other. And it's harder to ask one side to play nice while the other is throwing punches. So in this case, it was easiest to delete all the punches and set the record straight.
Thanks for the kind words, and I'll do my best to keep building my weird stuff! :)
Though I felt it wasn't completely unwarranted, at the same time it is your product and your community and I did not mean to overstep.
I appreciate all of your work, the medium needs more developers like you pushing the boundaries.
In this case, I needed a character who worked on the UAVs in Camp Grayling. It seemed like 15E would be a good fit for the role!

Sorry for the issues with saving! Would you mind telling me more about the problem? E.g. which game is this, and which platform?
You're welcome to reply here, but I sometimes don't notice things here as quickly. I'm usually pretty on top of the Ostranauts Steam forums, as well as the BBG official forums and BBG Discord. (It helps to tag @devs if on Discord.)
You can also email me using the address listed here, if that's easier:

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, this 8-minute video talks a bit about what we've done, and what we're planning:

It's fairly high-level, but should give you an idea.
Currently, we have a fixing/building/maintaining your ship loop, a salvage/resell parts loop, and a social/physiological survival loop. And as we get those complete, we'll be adding new activities onto those, whether they be paid missions for NPCs, aiding social contacts, or participating in story-like plots.
Still some basics to nail down, though, before we add more complexity. Hopefully, we'll have the existing stuff stabilized enough soon so that we can add more!
In the meantime, we have a patch planned for later this week or next, which might help. And it also will include some new gameplay stuff.
If you do give it a shot again, let me know how it goes!
