Nightmare of Decay provides the player with a short and concise version of what a survival horror game should be. During my play-through I felt very familiar with all the mechanics of the game. When people say this is a Resident Evil 1 PC port, they are half right. While yes the main gameplay IS extremely Resident Evil, the story is completely different. And with the story being different, it gives you incentive to keep playing. My only issue with this game was it's length. Just when the story started getting very interesting, it ended, and I think that's a shame because this game could have so much potential with all of it's, "it's just a nightmare" theme. The player could've visited other stereotypical horror game environments like a foggy town, an alien space ship, or an insane asylum. Really, I think the game, as it is, is a good experience for anyone who just wants to scratch that itch of being able to play Resident Evil 1 for the first time again. I still believe that the story could've been taken much further and the game could've stood way more out, as this homage to horror games, rather than just Resident Evil.
