Strikes the perfect balance between grind and reward, better with friends and an all round great time. Highly recommend for fans of Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Rune Factory and other cozy games. The perfect chill out pastime for the upcoming festive season.

Seen a Reddit post about leaving a negative review, I am a sheep so I follow. #savetf2

What's old is new again, a re-release of a re-release and a bloody good one at that.

Early Access Review
I played this on the day of release. I wanted to love it. The art direction, the concept, it takes me right back to my childhood. However, as it stands it’s broken.

Multiplayer was non existent and single player lasted 25 mins before you were on your own with no aims/goals, few things to craft, the same handful of enemies and just not enough variety. I am no stranger to survival games but it just didn’t feel as fleshed out as other games available right now.

For me the only selling point is the nostalgia factor with “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and that isn’t enough to enjoy it.

I am aware it’s early access but it just didn’t deliver what I wish it had. With people absolutely gushing over it today I felt I had to give my experience as it seems to have differed greatly and you need to see it from both sides before you throw your money at it.

Not everyone has the benefit of having all the free time in the world and having a plethora of people to play online with. My spare time is limited and my friends can’t always be available when I can be. I choose games I think I’ll fail in love with, that will challenge me, make me feel rewarded, not to fart time away. This game just frustrated and disappointed me in its current form.

I’ll check in at a later date once it picks up and is closer to consumer release, but as it stands it just isn’t for me.

I truly hope it does well. I so desperately want to love it.

Doom Eternal is a fantastic game.

Bethesda f**ked it by introducing Denuvo Anti-Cheat, a kernel level service that is used to stop online cheaters.

This was introduced months after release, without any heads up, causes performance problems on all platforms, has been shown to reduce operating system stability and outright broke Linux support. It also allows for a potentially malicious backdoor as it can both function and update itself silently in the background.

Due to this, Steam themselves are refusing refunds for 99% of cases as it is outside of their normal terms. They redirect to Bethesda support and close off support tickets palming off responsibility.

Steam themselves are guilty of allowing publishers to change their game/product as they see fit - even so far as to differ from the original sales criteria - after the fact and not holding them responsible for their actions. This needs to change. Steam are at fault here as well. They are not your friend and are just a business trying to make money at the end of the day.

This was a simple bait and switch and outright breaches consumer law. However proceeding with legal action or going ahead my involving an ombudsman could result in having your licenses revoked.

Do not purchase this game. It is unusable as it stands today.

Only Bethesda could take something as beautiful as Doom, which has the most understanding and loyal fan base, and completely stab them in the back after a hugely positive reception and top tier reviews.

Ring0/10 would not recommend.

P.S. 0.0 hours played in the last two weeks. I literally cannot use the product.
