Merp in Merpworld

Things I love:

the music was some AAA level soundtrack! All of the pieces slapped. My first death happened because I was trying to dance merp to the music and accidentally flew myself off the map :3
the story was actually surprisingly emotional for a game about a little sprout collecting gems while feeding carrots to door turnips
there were a lot of little details in the game which really took things to the next level. i do not want to spoil them because it would be much cooler for the player to discover them by themselves
the sound effects were very good! I especially liked the turnip door sound effects
there's actually a decent amount of skill expression in the game that comes from using the yellow power gem to bomb jump, or jumping out of a slide to get increased lateral distance
the best level is the one where you fight those bats on the moving platform
speaking of platforms, I really enjoyed the way the final fight was done. I'm just a little sprout :') leaf me alone :')
you get different dialogue if you go back to earlier levels after a certain point in the game. That was very cool to see and added a nice touch to it all
the dynamic weather effects is fun, and so is the general atmosphere
the game does on sale for $4.20; that is very important
I didn't collect all of the medals, but they're a neat way to encourage skillful players to spend more time beating the puzzles
most importantly, you get to kill those stupid annoying scorpions from satryn!!!!! god i hate those evil green bugs

Things I don't love as much:
level 19 and level 20 has a massive difficulty spike. I'd reckon half of my playtime was just in those two levels alone. Some may say it's a skill issue. I'd say they're probably correct.
it would be neat if there was some kind of a scoreboard for speed running levels. It would be especially coolio if there was a way to see who's able to beat specific levels the fastest without having their leaf
