Character customisation is added but does not mean much if you are a solo player. Backpack UI is changed for good. The best feature is the addition of minimap.

The game has sharper textures, but on the downside have performance issues on PCs that used to run the old versions perfectly well.

I liked this one a lot. The writing is marvelous. But if you are going for all achievements, it is very very difficult game to play.

Borderlands 2 is a very well written game with amazing characters and dialogues. It has fun to play mechanics. Improves over Borderlands 1 with great story and humor. With 6 playable characters, the game has a lot of replay value.
