Subnautica 2 is a lot more polished and filled with content than subnautica 1 when it first hit early access. The multiplayer works almost without issue, tho inventory management doesnt have lag compensation

The UI is only scaled for 1080 monitors, if you dont have that, thats rough buddy

The game is growing and improving because the devs are not afraid to change and break stuff and fix it later once feedback is clear

Getting 1-2 Seconds of waiting times for the game to render the next frame has never been so easy! All you need to do is press literally any button, open any menu or just scroll the mousewheel in and out (I am not joking).

Once the devs figure out how to read any programming book, you might get to enjoy the actually awesome game design hidden beneath and defeat the aliens!

I have to warn people that in my 28hour playthrough the game has crashed 7 times. Worse still, the crashes have all been near the end of a day where you will have 10-30 minutes of unsaved exploration and story dialogue. It sabotaged the immersion for sure and made me feel chronically anxious about when the next crash was going to happen.

I sent my first crash report almost 2 weeks ago and there is not fix yet.

Other than crashes, its a cute mix of adventure and colony management. The story teases a lot of interesting ideas about quantum mechanics but it disappointingly avoids going further. The main focus is on dealing with trauma, doubt and regret.

Overall I didnt find the worldbuilding nor the storytelling convincing enough. It was trying to break free but still has that disney feel to it where the world only exists for the journey.
