Each of the new Doom trilogy is awesome. They changed up the combat loop in a very satisfying and interesting way. It is easier than the other games, so play on Nightmare if you used to play on Ultra Violence.

Update 13 August 2025 - just tested the new Path Tracing update (I'm on a 4080 Super at 1440p, DLSS frame gen (2x) and performance mode and honestly wasn't expecting it to run very well. I'm pleasantly surprised to say that with frame gen at 1440p all options maxed and DLSS on performance mode, i'm getting 90 - 130 fps consistently (that means the ACTUAL frames are half that) but it feels and looks great.

ID is amazing with their tech and the game is just as fun to play the second time through as it was the first.
