I first acquired Subnautica for free with the launch of Epic Games. I clocked up about 250 hours in it on that platform. I love this game so much that I ended up paying for it - it brought me so much joy that I felt I needed to give the developers money. I believe in the devs so much, that I picked up Below Zero early access - I never normally buy early access games. I love Below Zero also, though if I had to pick one game it would be this one!

I have now played the plot through four times, most recently in Hardcore mode. I still don't want to leave 4564B.

If you are stuck at home for a few weeks, this is the perfect game to keep you company. If you have something pressing to be doing in the next few weeks, then perhaps hold off on Subnautica until you have whatever it is out of the way.

It's... ok. If you played this on original xbox, felt a wave of nostalgia, and thought you'd be playing that same edition on Steam, you'll be as dissapointed as I was. It turns out, this is the mobile game, ported to PC.

I have the mobile edition. It's fine for a phone game - fun, even. But it isn't Colin McRae Rally.

I picked the game up in some bundle at some point, so I can't really complain. And as I type this, the Summer sale is on and the game is $1.39, and to be fair, the game probably is worth that if you like a little casual racing from time to time. As it's designed for a phone screen, you can run this on low-spec computers also.

So, I think we've decided that the game is recommended for poor people with terrible computers. This is the first game I've reveiewd where I wanted a "Meh" thumb. It doesn't really deserve the Thumbs up it's about to receive.

If by chance, you've managed to get to 2016 without playing this game, you really ought to remedy this as soon as possible. Every time there's a sale, its price drops to a couple of dollars, and at that price point, you honestly can't go wrong!

It's really great as a co-op game, and is safe for little kids. In fact, it's the perfect game to introduce a kid of 8-10 to the FPS genre!

What a gem of a game! I had first heard of it when Total Biscuit raved about it in his review and it picked it up on sale. About a year or so later, I finally sat down to have a play - and wow!

First of all, I can't imagine playing this without a controller. I'm sure you can, but I really think you'd be missing out on some of the experience. Not quite as much as you'd be missing without sound, though! The soundtrack to this game is exemplery - on par with AAA titles. The first time I heard Zia sing, I was really surprised.

It's a little linear - I'm one of those who don't mind that if the story is compelling enough - and this story is. I often complete a game and think "I'll go back and play through it again one day", yet I never seem to. I actually think I might with this one. I'd like to see how it all ends if I make different choices.

Highly recommended game.

This game is rough. You wake up on a randomly generated world and need to manage your hunger, health and sanity. That's about the extent of the plot.

And doing these things is hard. You will die. Many times. The game is ruthless. Ultimately, the game wasn't for me - the learning curve was too steep and I was looking for something a little more casual. I wasn't willing to invest enough into the game to get past about day 16.

But under different circumstances, this game would really engage me. The artwork is exquisite, the theme is very macabre. Would definitely suit Tim Burton Fans. I may return to it one day. Or I might just go to the sequel.

The game is from 1997. Keep that in mind. The resolution is 640x480 and can't be changed. The controls are fiddly, and while it seems to support a controller, it doesn't play nicely with my xbox one.

There's lots to like about the game, especially if you are old enough to remember its release. But alas, it just doesn't play well with more modern computers, and as there are too many options to really work with a controller, it is just a pain to play.

If you are running XP, you may have better luck. But, I'm afraid I just can't recommend this game on Windows 10. I really wish I could, as I honestly love it.

I'm terrible at this game. I've beaten it once ever on the easy mode. Yet, I can't seem to stop playing it - it's just lots of fun.

The only criticism I have of FTL is that it can be a little like a card game. Chance plays a bit too strong of a role. You can play every card you are dealt perfectly, and still not win. You simply weren't dealt anough strong cards.

But, when I lose, it is difficult to not just embark on a new mission straight away!

The scale and scope of this epic game are incredible. I'll gladly conceed that this game isn't for everyone. It demands a heavy investment of time, but the rewards are so great for all of that. You start the game with a basic ship, enough currency to basically last your first 15 minutes (if you are frugal) and set loose in a galaxy. What will you do? Join the military? Become a trader? Work up to a station and trade? a pirate?

The good news is you can do all these things!

If you are looking for a casual game to kill 15 minutes while you wait for your bus, look elsewhere. If you want to spend months slowly building an empire to rival the largest corporations in the galaxy, with a fleet of freighters that number in the hundreds, and a personal amada that can jump into any sector and lay waste to everything it encounters, all while feeling a bit gushy over the amazing graphics, then THIS title is for you.
