Fantastic game. Very immersive. The only downside is it ends! I finished the game in about 18 hours. There is a challenge mode but I wish it had an endless mode or the option to keep playing after the game has ended. Really lovely little experience thiugh and I think about it often. Look forward to the sequel.

This game should really be an early access title. Everything works and it works relatively well, however. This game is EXTREMELY basic. There are only a small handful of options for ingredients, menu items, uniforms and furniture. Due to the way object stats and recipe ratings work you're sort of steam rolled into making a restaurant that looks extremely fancy, has a casino attached? and serves nothing but whole chickens. It also has no day/night function or opening hours or anything like that which is awful. The best titles of this type will have opening hours and an end of day breakdown but in this game you're sort of constantly battling a live feed of reviews which honestly is really easy. I haven't dropped below 4 stars by simply over staffing, serving only the highest rated recipes I have and turning the cooking time/quality all the way up. Ultimately a cute little game but if you're familiar with tycoon type games it'll only take you a couple hours to see all this game has to offer. Unless there are content updates planned for the future I would definitely wait for this to be on sale. Even at $10 AUD the amount of content isn't really worth it unfortunately.

Unlikely to continue playing. If you played Imperium Romanum back in '08 this doesn't add anything new to the old school city builder experience. if you have played any recent city builders you may be disappointed as this game suffers from some seriously outdated design choices. The city building and roads are extremely inorganic. I'm not sure how to describe it other than saying it feels old and done before. It is at least nice to look at. I may return at a later date.

If you loved the guild series but couldn't get into the guild 3 this game will scratch that itch for you. Really great atmosphere and vibe, awesome commitment from the dev with constant updates over the many years I've been popping back to this game. It can take a while to learn and there seems to be little room to lose and die but plenty of room to struggle and toil.
For the price it's worth giving a go for sure.

EDIT: Looks like it was just a big gap of silence and the game has since been released fully

I have loved this game for what it is but it would appear the devs abandoned it once the false advertising reviews started coming in hard and fast. They absolutely made a mistake with their trailer showing footage that implied the building system would be different but it is disappointing to see the peer review system once again destroy a promising title. Would be great to see some signs of life from the developers but until then I can no longer recommend this game.

I will adjust my review accordingly if this turns out to be better than it seems but having done the tutorial I cannot believe how patronising the dialogue is. For a seemingly deep game it speaks to you like a child. Had a good laugh at the narrator referring to hares using terms like majestic hahah. Also the tutorial events are really poorly times with the narration. generally things had either already happened or hadn't started happening while the narrator speaks which is very jarring.

I'm going to give it some more of my time and then come back and change my review accordingly but I felt it necessary to forewarn.

This game is brilliant fun. The music is super well done. The atmosphere is gritty and very true to thatchers England from my knowledge. The dialogue is fun. The systems are well designed and implemented. The game in no way holds your hand, no map and very little instructions which I personally really enjoy because you really need your memory and maybe a notepad for cement recipes etc. Great reference to Jalopy in the cigarette brands, another really charming title from Minskworks set in a the 1980s USSR. All over really good fun. I've been having a blast and intend to continue doing so! That main menu beat is a jam.

Content not appearing in game atm, don't waste your money

Having played since Tropico 3 I can wholeheartedly say this sucks. There are some interesting mechanics but the attention to detail is horrible. If you're the kind of person that has really enjoying the city building in the past games this won't tickle your fancy quite as much. Little things such as dirt roads for rural areas being completely absent from the game and almost all of the parks and plazas having mismatched ground textures beneath them result in cities looking like unrealistic Frankenstein's monsters. Additionally there is a new feature with plantations that results in them slowly destroying the surrounding fertility which to me seams to add nothing good to the game just the challenge of your plantations eventually becoming defunct (cool?). I adore the franchise. I love the soundtrack and I love visuals of the series but THIS game? sucks.
