It's a ball busting survivor-like with bullet hell, perkele-infused elements and late 90s adventure soul. It all comes together to become a wonderful little game! You will see some rough around the edginess that's expected from a small team but don't let that take away from a cute little fun experience.

Also there's a dog you can pet. What's not to love? Hoping the team puts a bit more polish and balance into the game before they head off onto their next exciting project. Great job team!

Try to get your combat multiplier even higher

While it retains the great gunplay from the original Citadel, everything else falls below expectations brought by a sequel. This is a very lukewarm review, barely passing the recommendation mark. I would say fans of Citadel will likely enjoy this because it's more of the original, I just don't think it really was an overall improvement of the formula or really impressed me as a FPS/boomer shooter experience.

The levels felt way more slapped together (misaligned textures, open holes, weird triggers, bad unit placement) that you would expect from some early aughts doom wads.

Music was pretty absent with exception of one track (that overstayed its welcome on the mech level)

The plot was weird and felt very much like it was trying to do some Kirkland brand NGE story telling. Some cute girls. Big fan of the sniper one.

New guns were good but the new mechanics (or I must've turned them off in the original if they were there) of active reloading and maintenance really made the game tedious and were turned off after the first act.

Played on the hardest difficulty.
